Morning Gentlemen. :grouphug:

I don't get excited too much about cards lately....but this one.

As Kid Rock Says "I'm going platinum!"  :? ::facepalm::

Taking a chance with a 0 feedback buyer but everyone needs to start somewhere. Bad, bad title and picture. Won it with my min bid.

Steal at that price. Good luck Josh.

I know. I paid more from my DET jersey /3 a few months back.

Morning boys! Went to the FansEdge/Chicago Sun-Times card show last night.
Here's my post from that thread, which sums up my experience pretty well.

Aside from that, it was one of the more depressing experiences
I've had in quite a while. I took $100 with me, and couldn't find
anything aside from these, which cost me $20

No cards of interest for Dawson or Williams, and really very little
local stuff to speak of period. Mostly vintage, some overpriced
high-end stuff. Lots of overpriced memorabilia, some cool photos
and paintings, and a bunch of really sad looking people.

Also busted 2 different dealers who had RIDICULOUSLY fake 2005
Absolute Jumbo jerseys that they decided to turn into Laundry Tags
Naturally both of them completely denied it when asked. According to
one, "he saw it pulled from a pack". The other guy said he bought his
on eBay, but after I asked to see it out of the case to check the #'ing,
He said, "Oh wait, no, I bought that one direct from Absolute". ::facepalm::

I think the biggest wow moment I had was a dealer who had an entire
case of Samardzija 07 BC. 2 Red Ref, the Super, and the Sterling Red 1/1.
And a memorabilia dealer who had about 35 Ted Williams OMLB's, 20 Mantles,
and 5 or 6 Joe D balls and bats.

I haven't been to a show in about 1 1/2 years, and yet I saw some
of the same dealers from the last show I went to, and they still had
most of the same cards in their cases that they had then.

It really made me think about how much this hobby has moved on and
evolved, and how so many of those people are stuck in 1995.

Morning boys! Watch out, Tom Watson is off to a good start again! Should be fun, hope he can keep it up.

Josh- great looking 1/1!! Seems like a great price! Congrats

Dave- sounds like a great vacation to look forward to.

Beefy- did you peal a sticker auto off that card and then have it signed?

Chas- sucks that the show was so bad. The Williams piece looks nice though!

GC- I'll check out the sets!

Good morning guys. The first day on the new job wasn't TOO bad. It was a ton of info and some hard work but at least I'm not digging ditches or swinging a hammer. It's going to be long hours and short pay but you can't be too picky in this economy I guess. I have a short day today then I'm coming home to watch last night's Astros games. Man I really don't like it when they are on the west coast and the games don't start till 9.

George, are you the one who paid $58 for the Rich Hill red ink?

That's gotta be his most expensive card in the last 3 or 4 years

Morning all. Looks like it's going to be another rainy weekend so I'll be ???? all weekend.

For any of those going to the National, if anyone would like to work something out for something of Jason Bay or Piazza if they find anything nice, pm me, I'd like to get at least 1 item if possible.

Nice pickups. The Williams looks real nice.

But why the heck couldn't you have gone tonight?!?!?!

Still looking for someone to pick up a Feller ball from tonight's signing but nobody responded to my post in that thread. Wanted to try to get one personalized to Max. Might try to TTM one.

Yes :( , two closed last night, I killed a $50 BIN on the first, it closed 49, high bidder on that one was #2 on the one I bought for $58, oh well...

Josh, I will add a link to the sig from the transaction board.
I will take any and all reds, I have 1 double already. Picking these up $65 and under (mostly)

I've learned when it comes to A&G stuff that George wants, its best to just sit back and enjoy the show... :D

And dont even think about bidding against him or he will break you down either physically or with his rhetoric...some even refer to him as "an SUV of a man"*

*The statement above does not contain the slightest bit of truth, merit, or justification. It is a pitiful attempt at humor based entirely on the comedic timings of your MT host...MojoDan. Well, expcept the SUV part...

Howdy all....going through withdrawls with no baseball games for my kids now. Did help to coach my oldest 2 boys high school summer soccer team last night.

Looking forward to Clay's start tonight for the Sox.

Enjoy the weekend everyone.

Good morning guys. I hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend.

Josh- Nice pick up on the Kell. Even better price!

George- Good luck with the set. I can't wait to see it when you get it all finished. I'm a big A&G fan myself.

Charlie- Great stuff. That Williams looks cool. Sounds like it wasn't too good of a show though. At least you got to meet up with a board member and get a nice, new Williams.

Not much here. My monthly football break is tonight. I'm looking forward to that. Crystal is going to go see Harry Potter sometime this weekend. Not my scene. I wish I could go to the Nationals and pick up some new stuff, but I am adhering to my self-imposed ban. Well, there is one exception.
