We actually call Max Boo, or Boobah. But mostly Boo. Don't know how we came up with it at all. He answers when we call him that though. ::facepalm::

Haven't heard back anything much at all. I called the school to ask what class he was going to be in but they don't post that until Friday afternoon. Then the secretary told us though that he was going to be in the afternoon class. When we filled out the paperwork we ask for mornings but it wasn't a sure thing. After a brief conversation she took pity on us and put us in the morning class. She was pretty nice about it. I ended up shooting off an email last night to the Superintendent, Enrollment Coordinator, and Dir. Educational Services K-8.
If you are really bored here's the email I sent.
We are the Parents of Maxwell Eagan who will be entering 4K this school year. We received a phone call yesterday, August 17th, from Charles Smith the principal of Edgewood Elementary. He let us know that Max would be attending Edgewood for the 2009-2010 school year and not Maple Grove. This was a complete shock to us. We where told it was due to large class sizes and that the district needed to spread out some kids.
This has been very disappointing to us to say the least. We filled out all the correct paperwork back in February on the very first day that paperwork was being accepted. We where one of the first, if not the first, to drop off everything and was told that everything looked ok and we would hear in mid August as to what session he would be attending. Not once did anyone ever say that there was a chance the he would be attending another school.
The biggest issue for us is that Maple Grove is only about 2/10 of a mile from our house. It's within walking distance for us. We drive past it everyday. I can understand if we where between Edgewood and Maple Grove an even distance and being told what school he would be sent to would be a toss up. For us our major concern is that he'll be missing out on social interaction and growth with people and kids that he lives close to. We feel it's difficult to be part of neighborhood community when our child can't attend the neighborhood school.
We have called several people looking for answers and have not received any calls back as of this email. We are just looking for some answers as to how, living so close to a school, we where chosen to attend a school farther away. What criteria where used for selecting who goes where? Where any Open Enrollment kids placed in 4K at Maple Grove?
The people over at Edgewood have been very helpful and accommodating with our questions. They also said they would try very hard to get Max over to Maple Grove for Kindergarten next year.
Thank you for your time

Writing is really not my strong suit at all.
Not bad for a Photography Major.
It.... is.... awesome. And it's not even the big things that are the most fun. To me it's the smallest things that are the best. Mastering a motor skill that they couldn't do before is like a jump up to the ceiling moment.MojoDan said:Is it just me or is watching your kids figure stuff out the best thing ever?
