The NFLPA can go **** themselves. The players are a bunch of greedy bastards and ******* Smith is the biggest idiot on the planet. Make no mistake, the owners are no better than the players, but they at least made an effort.

The new CBA a 400+ page document, that was written by lawyers for the owners AND players, was somehow mysteriously changed/altered/switched by the owners to try and fool the players. Do they think people are that stupid? The players got a copy of it Wednesday straight from THEIR lawyers who helped write the damn thing.

This whole situation pisses me off. I hope there is no NFL season now so that all of these greedy ******* get stung in the wallet.

Both. Right now, the players. Each side is trying so hard to make the other look bad that they both look like **** to me. I find it hard to believe that the owners were able to significantly modify the CBA when lawyers for both sides were in the same room and writing it together. The players also received a copy of it before the owners did. So I still don't understand how the owners switched out pages, made 1900+ copies, and got them to players before they even knew which pages to switch. Does DeMaurice Smith really think people are that stupid? He and the NFLPA lawyers will completely screw this deal up. I have absolutely no doubt about that.

Sorry for continuing my rant George. I think both sides are greedy and I think both sides are working as hard as they can to screw each other over. Through out the entire process, the owners have continued to show that they were willing to concede a bit. The players got an inch and now they want 1,000 miles. They have no desire to compromise and only want more, more, more.

Joe, I agree with the greed but if the owners are the ones changing paperwork it should be them you are most pissed at. The whole thing is BS and everyone knows it. Both sides have given in (some) but I am with you.......I really dont need football in 2011 :lol:

That's my point though. How did the owners change the paperwork? Both sides negotiated, both sides lawyers sat down and wrote up the CBA. Then the players received it first, from THEIR own lawyers, yet they claim the owners changed it? It doesn't make sense. The players got a copy of it right after it was written up. They got it from their lawyers. The only person who could have changed it, DeMaurice Smith. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, so I doubt he changed it to make the owners look bad. I think some players just may not be happy with what was negotiated, so Smith said the owners changed it.

Joe, not that I feel bad for either side, but even sports radio here in Chicago is callinh shennanigans on the owners for throwing in undiscussed clauses, and setting a timeline for football activities to begin when the players have yet to re-certify or agree to the deal.

Its basically a ******** PR move by the league, so they can say..."see! its the players, not us"

I'm also being told that as of this morning, many of the player reps still don't have the cba in front of them.

The owners got EVERYTHING they wanted in this deal.

They knew they weren't getting an 18 game season, yet acted like that was a HUGE concession.

The only possible result when the owners lock out the players, is for the owners to come out ahead.

Charlie- I've been listening and reading a lot and all of the places who agree with the players have agreed with the players all along. I'm not saying the owners aren't just as big of ********** as the players, I'm just calling BS on Smith and the players.

Everyone keeps saying the owners changed the documents, then explain how. If NFLPA lawyers were alongside NFL lawyers, writing the CBA together, how did the owners sneak anything in? That's what no one can explain. "Well, we agreed to stuff, both teams of lawyers wrote it up, but now it's different." I just want to know how. The NFLPA lawyers, who are being paid very well, didn't at least take a look at the document when it was finished? They didn't check to see if the NFL lawyers were just slipping **** in there? None of it adds up. How is the CBA significantly different when neither touched it until after the lawyers were done with it.

Also, the owners didn't get everything they wanted. The players came away with a lot more. The players wanted more pay and less work. everything has been trimmed down so that they don't have as many practices and work outs. To me, that's what it all boiled down to. Players wanted more of the money: Check. The players wanted to do less work for it: Check. They don't want as many camps and a shorter training camp: Check. They wanted less practices and workouts where there was contact: Check. They want to be free agents sooner: Check.

I'm just not seeing how the players got steamrolled like media outlets are saying.

Yes. Drafted players get 4 year contracts and there is a salary cap per each draft class. I think the biggest limitations are on picks 1-11. I can't remember the exact picks, but something like that.
