Whoa, wait!

You pulled a Romo from Topps Mayo? Auto or jersey? (I assume Johnson wouldn't be on it, but I haven't seen a checklist)

Either way, I'm sure it's awesome as it's a Cowboy. Congrats.

Should be another win for the Boys. I think they win a high-scoring game, something like 34-28, with alot of yards for the RBs hopefully. Big test for the DBs to see if they can keep playing well.

I'm stuck watching Vikings-Lions for some reason. I really don't know what the guys who pick the games for their markets are thinking sometimes.

The Packers/Cowboys is an afternoon game. The Vikings game starts in a few minutes.

Yeah, I saw that. I was just ripping them for putting the Lions on. The other games aren't as good, but still, the Lions?!?...

My CBS game is good though, Steelers-Bengals, so that's alot better. It's bad enough I have to watch Lions on Turkey Day every year, but this week? Ugh.

Hamlin is out 2-4 wks w/ a high ankle sprain.

If Watkins is starting, I'm sorry Hamlin is out. Otherwise, this might be a blessing in disguise. Hamlin has been brutal at times, and seems to be shying away from contact as the season progresses.

Hamlin has to be playing injured b/c he is usually not a guy to avoid contact. Ball or Watkins could get the start. Ball has been going w/ the 2nd team so he might be the guy.

I guess the team is still not sure who will be the RT. It could be Free, Mcquistan (sp?), a FA, or another starter on the OL if they move some guys around.

Every team has to deal w/ injuries but Garrett needs to adjust. I blame the majority of this loss on him. He struggles w/ aggresive defenses and it shows in the play calling and the OL protection.

The Cowboys also need to improve on stopping teams on 3rd down. The Packers were able to convert on multiple 3rd downs b/c Rodgers was able to escape pressure and buy time. These areas need to be addressed for them to be a playoff team.

Here's a great article summing up the Cowboys passing too much. Wade says they played too imbalanced, and the Packers D Coordinator said that the lack of run made it easy to contain the Boys.

Hopefully Wade jumps on Garrett and gets this fixed for next game. The Redskins seemed to be getting back on track after a nice performance last week. It could be a really good game.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... romos-arm/

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo dropped back to pass 44 times in Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers. He handed off 11 times.

Looking back on the game, Cowboys coach Wade Phillips says he doesn't want to see such an imbalance between passing and running again.

"We still want to play balanced," Phillips said, per Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com. "If we can run the ball, we want to be able to control the ball more. It'd help the defense, if nothing else."

It'd also make life more difficult for the opposing defense, as Packers defensive coordinator Dom Capers made clear in his post-game comments. Asked why the defense was able to shut the Cowboys out until a garbage time touchdown, Capers said the Cowboys' lack of balance made life easy for his unit.

"We were able to pressure more [Sunday] because the game became one-dimensional," said Capers. "You can just go out and blitz, but if people are going to run the ball for big yardage on you you're foolish. We had some run pressures, they worked decently and it opened up more of our pass pressures."

It's not clear why the Cowboys allowed the game to become so one-dimensional: Usually teams don't abandon the run unless they fall way behind, but the Cowboys abandoned the run even though they were tied 0-0 for half of the game and were only down 3-0 at the start of the fourth quarter. Whatever the reasons for the Cowboys' pass-happy play calling, Phillips says it can't happen again.

Thanks for the article. Why didn't Wade jump on Garrett during the game? If they keep waiting till after games to make adjustments the Cowboys will be watching the playoffs from home(again this year).

I often think that Wade doesn't have the cajones to get in somebody's face. That's why TO went rampant, Garrett calls what he wants, etc.

It reminds me of last season (can't remember which game), where Wade sent the punt team out on 4th down. Romo waived them off, got in the huddle, called his own play, and ran for the first down. If a player has a coach with backbone, they don't send the punt team off - they storm off to the sidelines. It was still a great play, and I admire Romo for showing the heart.

Most times, I guess Unitas actually would do this w/ Shula but that's Unitas.lol

You'd think the possibility of getting fired would motivate him to get on his players and coaches.

Wow, Wade Phillips is making headlines for some good things for a change. Nice to see him publicly ask about the poor officiating in the game. I hope that he's not fined, as he did it in a classy manner, and not heated in a post game conference.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... -mistakes/

Dallas coach Wade Phillips says the officiating crew that worked the Cowboys' game in Green Bay on Sunday made some errors that turned out to be costly in his team's loss to the Packers.

Phillips says the officials failed to see it -- and then failed to review it -- when Packers punt returner Tramon Williams stepped out of bounds with 42 seconds left in the first half. According to Phillips, that gave the Packers a free seven yards to help set up their field goal as time expired in the first half.

"It was a seven-yard difference, and the guy ended up kicking a 52-yard field goal," Phillips said, per Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com. "So things like that happened to us and we've got to find out why."

That wasn't the only mistake made by referee Jeff Triplette and his crew. Phillips also complained about a ruling on a fumble by Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo: Phillips thought it was Cowboys running back Felix Jones who recovered the ball, but the officials on the field ruled that the Packers recovered. Phillips threw his red challenge flag and Triplette at first started to review the play, but then he remembered that the recovery was not a reviewable play.

Triplette acknowledged afterward that he screwed up on the question of whether he was permitted to review the play at all.

"My mistake," Triplette said. "That's not a reviewable aspect of a play. A recovery of a loose ball in the field of play is not reviewable by rule, so we just couldn't review it."

And that wasn't Triplette's only mistake regarding a replay challenge. While watching the game I tweeted that Triplette is a horrible ref, and wondered how he keeps his job when he doesn't even know basic instant replay procedures, regarding both that play and a challenge from Packers coach Mike McCarthy.

In the fourth quarter, McCarthy threw a challenge flag even though the Packers were out of challenges, and Triplette delayed the game while he dealt with the challenge that McCarthy couldn't make. By rule, McCarthy should have been penalized for throwing the red flag when he didn't have a challenge, but Triplette didn't call the penalty.

Said Phillips of those issues, and an illegal block that Phillips said was enforced from the wrong spot on the field, "Things like that, we go to the league on those things and find out why."
