Now I know more... it's 2001 Donruss Longball Leaders - the Seasonal Sum versions are serial numbered to that player's HR total from 2000. There's a Giambi and Edmonds on Beckett Marketplace.

Oh well. One will pop up sooner or later.
Congrats! Good price too.
Was just looking around the Pacific Website on the Internet Wayback Machine and say this. 2000 Pacific Invincible Wild Vinyl #5 Sammy Sosa. #'d 10/10. Probably a mock up but you just don't see these too often.

Those are out there! There was an Arod (or was it Jeter?) up for auction a year or 2 back which was discussed in one of the previous 90s threads. Sweet cards. Anything about 98 Online Winners mentioned on the wayback machine?

Is there any difference in the scarcity of the two variations?
I don't know exact numbers, but the reflectives are supposed to be significantly scarcer than the already-scarce non-reflectives.
What's the story behind those? Are they all backdoored?
2005 Donruss Inside View parallel cards Theses cards were mistakenly inserted into Donruss hobby packs, but were never produced for commercial release! Donruss has been very tight lipped as to the reason the mistake was made, and to what the actual circulation is. Most everyone agrees that the total number produced is under 25!! Beckett currently lists this item as unpriced "due to scarcity", which always means big bucks to the collector.
found a little more info........... (Remember this is the internet after all) hehe
This insert set was, for reasons that still remain unclear, withdrawn from production. However, again for reasons unclear, some Inside Views made their way into packs.
Originally, each card was to have been serial-numbered to 1000 copies with a Black parallel numbered to 50. The cards that made their way into packs are NOT serial-numbered.
It appears that anywhere from five to 25 copies of each card made their way into packs.
