Pure awesomeness. In a thread where it was nicely asked to stop being a dick for dicks sake and to stop trolling there are certain members that just can't help themselves.

He's dead on when he says you have acted like a *******. You told me that you would try and adjust your behavior, lets get to doing that please.

Well, not adjust my behavior, just being more aware of what I'm posting and how sensitive some people seem to be. Have I done something wrong already? If so please let me know.

....I'm making zero of a deal, simply asking a question that wasn't directed towards you?

See Chris, I post normally and everyone still has a giant Cow.

What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some (wo)men you just can't reach.

a normal post wouldn't be passive aggressive in nature:
just being more aware of what I'm posting and how sensitive some people seem to be

For most, no. For someone that has recently returned from a time out for her posting etiquette, perhaps.

How bullXXXX is it that someone comes into this thread to do exactly what Gilmore posted about NOT doing AND then gets away with being a dick (I'd use the correct word for a female, but I don't want to get banned on a Sunday).

So the mods, which again, I know not all have read today's postings in this thread, do jack XXXX about someone being a dick for the sake of being a dick. Un-XXXXing-real.

Mostly lurking here - wouldn't a tightly wound up message board/forum/group be more ripe to be trolled by any number of people? One thing to actually cause harm or scam people, but if FCB is cracking down on some bogeyman / bogeywoman, it shows more about the pettiness / thin-skinned nature of the board itself than the so-called problems.

why is it that the thread with the most response on the Baseball board is this one??

why can't people just move on and get back to baseball discussion?? some of you need to put more time/effort into being a quality contributor to the board and not just this thread in particular...Rules are rules move on already!

Uncalled for.

Honesty is never uncalled for. You asked a question, I answered it. You've already proven you have no intention on changing your posting behavior. Hope the ban hammer comes swift and just.

Yes but I wasn't asking you yet you felt the need to chime in? And what horrible posting behavior have I shown today?

I generally try and couch my own opinions in wording that most indicates its my own views of a subject matter and not pass judgment or stomp on anyone else's stated beliefs. It means writing and rewriting wording of my statements half a dozen times or more. It also means not worrying about someone elses sensitivity because its my own viewpoint being expressed.

For example-- someone just wanted to know why people just can't express themselves the way they want?

People can-- as long as its them stating their own views. Its in how your word your own posts-- and one should NEVER reply off the cuff because emotions will control ones statements and not ones brain/common sense button.

What separates good from bad posting is how other people read the INTENT of their posts. Poorly worded statements get a lot of people into trouble with others. How it comes out of one's mouth is sometimes not how it can be written down. Reading one's own statements before replying off the cuff to anyone is a good general rule of thumb. Nothings worse than having to go back an edit a boneheaded, arrogant tool of a statement that came out of one's own mouth on a public message board.

Freedom of speech generally is a great thing-- just has its drawbacks as we all are never going to make every single listener/viewer happy. Best we all can hope for is to do our best and try to peacefully co-exist. May not always work out but if people see we are at least trying then things will generally work themselves out later down the line.

My own opinion-- as always,,,,
Jeff

If you can't figure that out, I'll leave it at that. Chris already had to tell you to get started with the change.

You didn't ask anyone specific, you just asked after you quoted.

I really hope you can make the necessary changes to avoid repercussions. Honestly, I do. Just not too hopeful at this point, as I've seen you be asked to tone it down elsewhere and that didn't work out to well for you.

Good luck!
