@cgilmo - Is something like the player collectors thread something we could make an exception for based off of request/majority of collectors speaking about it? I know we don't want to do things like this for too many things, but a Player Collectors Thread actually does contribute to the collectibility aspect as well as something that many members want in a good way.

I know Gwynn545 has mentioned it NUMEROUS times. I know if I run across some inserts or a super low #'d patch or GU card that I get for peanuts, I want to find a good home for it. BUT, on here, I can't, because it isn't stickied and I'm not going to search through all the threads I've posted in, because I run my mouth like Spike Lee ...

Also, will this 'tighter moderation' pertain to Facebook posts or can I still be an ignorant dick that nobody likes on there ? notjomommasclint JoshHamilton Weimer

Geez guys, still going with this. Most get it and understand what and why we are trying to do here. Its not rocket science it is to curb the guys who like to act like dicks. I wish we didnt have to but we wanna make this board better then it currently is.

The goal is to stop inhibiting legit hobby topics. Trainwrecks will still happen.
So should we have "trainwreck specific threads" if we want to display our human nature? That is what you're asking, right? Your concern seems to be diminishing site traffic. What is it about this forum that sets it apart from the others, that makes people want to come here? All the "Topps Sucks" posts? All the "Leaf is Great" posts? Because as a new visitor, looking in, these are what jumps out at you at FCB. I'm sure most visitors just shrug their shoulders & move on to a more "realistic" site, because 95% of the hobby collects Topps products & doesn't take Leaf very seriously, if at all. What's the first thing people see when they click into the forums? "The Leaf Trading Cards Customer Forum". No mention of a Topps forum there. No Panini or Upper Deck forums. Seriously, I'm not bashing Leaf (no need to moderate lol) but that's predominately what you see here as a new visitor. And for the guys that you worry about being "aftraid" to post? Man-Up biatches!

I get it and I love it. Especially the reason for its inception. IMHO, the people complaining about it seem to be members who are afraid they can't control themselves and will face some form of FCB discipline.

My only complaint about FCB was how certain members would act. New members were constantly lambasted, and ran off. People were mocked and made fun of because their low end sale thread didn't meet some people's high end requirements. It's got ridiculous and definitely was a contributing factor in my lack of posting, over the last couple of months.

Some people are talkers, some people are lurkers bg, you are correct. The odds of converting lurkers to talkers are slim at best, regardless of what you do.

I'm not saying I care either way, but from a simple web-page layout stand-point, he does have a point. If we want this to be about hobby discussion, then maybe that's the first thing people should see when they click over here. Web-pages are still bound by the computer screen, and the the bottom of the computer screen represents the "fold" of a newspaper. As with any media, your goal should be to get your best content "above the fold". That might not be what's happening here. Again, this is all from a layout perspective.

In the height of comedy...reading bmc398's posts as a "super moderator" is pure gold. And seriously, he has zero credibility when requesting others to "play nice."

That's like me demanding someone to not be sarcastic...it rings hollow.

And while my dislike for Jeff is entertaining, we stand in agreement on opinions regarding this super mod.

Hopefully he'll learn the difference between moderating and making situations worse when he graduates from moderator college.
