Tonight's paid attendance? 9,129....lowest in Oriole Park at Camden Yards history. While I was working out tonight, I noticed a very telling statement on the white board at the gym. In big, black print.....ORIOLES: BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR. Not even a week through the season and most of Baltimore has already thrown in the towel. The team just doesn't have heart and has already taken the city's.

Normally you would be right Blake. However, 13 (soon to be 14) losing seasons in a row just doesn't give people a lot to care about. Pretty much everyone except for Pie and Wieters is taking a beating in the press.....especially Jones.

It doesn't matter how good their young talent is, there's no chance they can compete with NY, Boston or Tampa.

Bingo! Baltimore is 100% a Ravens town now, because they at least have an honest shot of winning.

that is rough...i bet the media is all over the proposed realignment as well. i am not a fan of teams switching divisions from year to year but i'd like to see a balanced schedule. i know people on the eastern seaboard piss and moan about the AL west only having 4 teams but they traditionally fare well against the other divisions and beat up on one another.

and if somehow Baltimore went to the NL East then how could you have both beltway teams in the same league? Its sad enough seeing both Baltimore and the Nationals ending up in last place all the time? Do you think they would ever consider get rid of the Beltway baseball teams and have no Baseball in DC or Baltimore? It just doesnt seem like they can draw hardly any fans to either ball park

i'd take tampa out of that statement...just a few years ago they were an awful franchise. baltimore could very well put together a tampa type run if they continue to develop talent and open up their wallets a bit. i am not talking about overpaying for guys, just making smart business decisions in regards to their personnel.

Interestingly, most people in Baltimore that I've talked would prefer a balanced schedule and stay in the AL East. Taking baseball out of Baltimore would kill me. It's really, really, really down here right now. But it's still a great baseball town. We feel we've just been sold a false bill of goods and most fans have gone underground. How bad was it on Opening Day? Mike Gonzalez got booed during introductions and when he got yanked it the ninth after ANOTHER blown save....it just got ugly for him. The opening day meltdown didn't help. The one comment I heard leaving the park...."The same old Orioles, the same old ****, the same old losers. I'm done with them".

Hey Michael Phelps was in the seats. The lone highlight of the game tonight.

The pitchers are actually holding their own. They are doing great but they aren't miserable either. Our offense however is anemic.

Did you know after this Wednesday 4/14, the Orioles won't have another home game until 5/11? I got my Opening Day tickets for free. The only other game I will pay to go to is 6/26 vs. The Nationals when they'll honor the 1970 team pre-game.

Just to add to the fact of how sad it is, my company owns season tickets 8 rows behind home plate, with free parking, and I couldn't even find an employee to take them for free.

Even more sad that they are so pathetic I didn't even want to use them :(

After 13 straight losing years and mismanagement it would. It would happen anywhere. It's not the fans fault either.

One of two things are going to happen, eventually things will get so bad that Angelos starts losing money and will sell... Or something I would never want to see happen, they leave town.

I don't know how they could justify the latter because its not like they are even close to competitive. If they were a .500 team I would have no problem at least going to pay and watch. Another 65 win season ahead of us...
