I was bored tonight so I thought I would take some pictures of my balls. The first dozen or so are Cardinals, then players I liked from the 80's, a few hall of famers, a couple sentimental favorites, etc… I obtained all but two in person and the two that weren't (Matheny and Slaughter) I got from reliable sources I trust. I listed them at the end if you had trouble deciphering who some of them were. Hope you like them (thought most of the pictures turned out prett well).

I like your balls. They sexy.

How do you photograph or scan them?

Thanks. Set your camera to the Macro setting and make sure you have a lot of light. I actually use one of my daughter's little chairs and just drape a black cloth over it. Place the ball on the seat against the backrest and that is it.

Great collection! I have over 300 balls, including every living HOFer (except for Gillick, now), but I don't think I've ever seen a Willie McGee before! Is it my imagination, or are McGee autos hard to come by?

BTW, Jack Clark is my favorite player ever. I'm now 37 years old, but I was giddy when I got to meet him at the National in Cleveland a couple of years ago!

300 balls! Wow. McGee and Clark were two of my favorites growing up. I've lived in the Chicagoland area for 10 years now and McGee has come to this area exactly one time and that was recently. Coincidently, out of all the autographs I've ever gotten the only person that wasn't polite was Keith Hernandez. He just grabbed the ball and never looked up. When he was done he rolled the ball across the table and just went on to the next person.

I just love Dawson's sig.

Dawson was making the rounds in the western suburbs a few years ago doing free signings at local Home Depots. He came to both of the HD's near my house and even though I hate the Cubs I always liked him; and yes, he does have a nice signature.

Wow, outstanding photos... I pulled my Musial out to take a look and it has a few light brown spots here and there. Just wondering how you stored them? I have mine in a Ball Qube inside the original box. Also just wondering if it mattered who the Presidents name was on the ball. I got mine at a show in Nashville in late 1988 (Opryland hotel) and Bart Giamatti is the name on the ball. Musial was the friendliest signer I have ever seen followed by Enos Slaughter and Bob Feller in my experiences.

you probably already know this but you have really, really nice balls...

also, i like the photos themselves. not sure what it is (perhaps the contrasting background) but those shots really make the balls & autos pop. nice work.

AWESOME collection!!! I don't have any of what I consider to be the big three (DiMaggio, Mantle, Williams), so I'm a little jealous! Where/when did you get the Gillick?

I store them in ball cubes out of the light in my basement. Several years ago I bought multiple official major league baseballs from various years. The Musial ball is my favorite because it is the cerominial first pitch 2001 WS ball. Nice big flag and a Musial auto... It doesn't get more American than that. Here is the back:
