From an aesthetic standpoint I'd rather have the Sweetspot auto over a Bowman auto. The Bowman card will be the better known auto hence may offer more upside if any is to be obtained. I called it an average buy.

I'd be interested in buying a box of this still, but BG----

What is the ratio of these monster hits to the shatty ones that are valued way lower than the price of the box? I know everything in there isn't worth $200!

Worst card is $50 (my cost), best is $12,500 (my cost). There will probably be 40 $1000+ cards in the product. You average return on investment if you opened every pack and sold the cards at my cost would be 80-85%. That is VERY strong these days.

A piece of advice...don't buy BGS graded OPC cards. Most are sheet cut garbage

This is one of the great hobby debates.
Are all cards sheet cut? If a card measures correctly with accpetable cut, does it matter?

I would not buy a gretzky bgs 9.5 that is for sure. Opc Lemiuex however can come clean enough to truly 9.5.

We are internally discussing the merits of a complete checklist. IF we release this, quanitites of each card inserted will not be released. We do not want to hurt pack sales if particular cards are pulled early or late.

My opinion, for whatever it's worth on a few things.

Strasburg Purchase - I think it's average. The card will peak when he's called up and if he dominates in his first outing, after that, it'll settle, probably in the $750-1000 range. If he performs average, it'll drop to the $500 range. If he gets rocked, it'll plummet.

This Product - As I've said before, I think doing this does little to nothing to help "promote" future Razor products. I'm opening a Razor product, but receiving a Topps or UD or OPC card. When I look at this card in a month, Razor is the last thing I'll think of. Nothing on it says "Razor". While you may sell these products out, I just don't see the help to your company in the future, especially if/when you do get a major license in the future. Maybe if you were able to include a "base set" of sorts that has the Razor name on it. If I'm sorting through cards I have laying around, I see Topps, I see UD, I see Donruss/Panini...I wouldn't see Razor because these types of products do NOT promote your product. This is just my Marketing degree coming out...

Now one other thing regarding this product, what is the intended ratio of baseball vs. basketball vs. hockey vs. football vs. misc?? Will this information be released? I'm not a football collector, and I'm not at all a basketball collector and would have no interest in hitting any of those cards, so I'd be curious of the chances of me hitting baseball or hockey instead of basketball or football.

Razor Bashing - I must say, many on these boards are some of the biggest whiners around. If you lost money on Razor products, you have no one to blame but yourself for purchasing them. On that...I'm going to go out on a limb and say you've lost money on most Topps and UD products also, and probably wouldn't treat a rep from one of those companies the same if he/she were to show up. So grow the F up, and get over it. If you don't like Razor, then just leave it alone, and don't purchase their products.

I would definitely want somewhat of a checklist; buying blind is just something I would not do. I think I speak for a lot of people in this statement.

I completely agree with Seth here.

I like the concept of the product (plus, I feel the buy was solid based on the other, more available SS of Stras) and may grab a pack or two, just to check things out.

It matters to 99% of people who collect vintage OPC, myself included.

The reason gem mint OPC's are so damn expensive is because of poor quality control and cutting methods. Thus the premium on high grade examples. It isn't hard to take an uncut sheet and get it professionally laser cut, hence why BGS sells for a fraction of PSA

I agree on the fact that this is a solid buy and just one of what seems a good amount of solid hits for this new intended product. Im sure that with a checklist out in the open as well as more big hits like this shown I believe it could be a solid product. Congrats on the buy either way!

I have to admit I skipped a few pages because it was just filled with some garbage, but I have a question...

I saw that you said that the cards will be done through BGS. Will you be grading them, or just getting them slabbed with authenticity?

I appreciate your position on this. I personally prefer cards cut by the factory at press time. However, there is still a vary strong market for BGS 9.5 cards vs psa 10's, as PSA 10's are non-existant. PLus, not EVERY 9.5 is sheet cut. Some are, but some arent.

If you have any PSA 10 or PSA 9 key OPC for sale, feel free to quote me a price.

If you are personally grading, or even buying graded cards, maybe you can work a deal with BGS or PSA to have these labeled with the name of your product on it, that way when people look at the cards, they can see your companies name, instead of just seeing a topps or UD card.
