Probably not the fastest but what about Carlos Gomez?

I gave him some thought but I'd put each of the guy's I listed up ahead of him...I think he's fast, just not the "fastest". :D

Julio borbon is much faster than Elvis Andrus

Its just hard to tell, since borbon is having problems this year with getting on base.

There's a huge difference between fastest out of the box and just plain fastest.

That's a really good point---Joey Gathright, for instance, has tons of pure speed, yet is slow to get out of the box (or to get a jump when stealing a base). Likely faster than Ichiro Suzuki, yet Suzuki gets out of the box extremely quickly, turning all those groundouts into hits.

When he's in the majors, I'd put Greg Golson in the top 10.

On more than one occasion I have seen Julio Borbon score from 2nd base on a past ball.

Drew Stubbs can burn, definitely in the Top 5...only problem is that he has a tough time getting on base, lol!

The first name I came up with was Bourne.

Mike Brantley is pretty quick.

And the name that I think will replace the others if/when he gets called is indeed Ford.

A couple thoughts.....

A lot of people are just putting the popular "names" on their list, and apparently do not actually watch the games. ANY list without Nyjer Morgan and Michael Bourne on it should be thrown in the trash. These guys without a doubt belong in the top 5. Some of the others are debatable, but these two are not. They may not have the most talent, but they do have the most speed.

Points about others lists..

Carl Crawford - Very fast, but uses his smarts to make people think he is faster. Top 10, not 5.

Jose Reyes - This is not 2008, if you actually watch the games, you should notice that he has lost speed over the last couple of years. Still top 10, not 5.

Elvis Andrus - Possibly top 15, but not as fast as some say.

Hanley Ramirez - Seriously? Great player, but lots of people are faster.

So after saying all of that, my Top 5 (in no order) would probably be.....
Nyjer Morgan
Michael Bourne
Julio Borbon
Drew Stubbs
Angel Pagan
