Maybe when Robert Mueller gets done investigating the Ray Rice thing, he can investigate why Topps et al suck at redemptions so much.

That's hilarious. The segment should have been about the Topps Redemption system overall and not one guy and his Joe D. redemption. I think if you pulled back the curtain, you'd find thousands and thousands of owed cards by Topps. It's almost like a ponzi scheme IMO. Selling product today in order to make and pay owed cards. Really sad.

The best part for topps is that they make out in the end when all those redemptions still in product expires.

I honestly can't say this enough... it's like the stock market in the late '90s when the tech boom was all people wanted to buy into... it eventually busted and everything came crashing down. I honestly believe inside that they are SO far out over their skis... I mean it's like the saying "You're writing checks your body can't cash" really. It is truly turning into a ponzi scheme IMO. This one guy got what he wanted with the help of a news channel but what about all the rest of us? What about the guy who has a redemption for a Babe Ruth 1/1 or whatever? Even more rare stuff worth $10k? I mean that's real money.

I busted a box of 95 Fleer the other night and pulled the Rookie Exchange card. I am not sure what the odds were, maybe 1:360? I like the unredeemed cards as well which can be cool stand alone collectibles, but it still sucks to pull something tough to get years later and it is essentially worthless now. I also got a hot pack in that box, so it wasn't all bad!!

Fleer hot packs were as good as gold then.I remember hitting a hot pack back then and was on Cloud 9 for days.
