Would you rather have A:

2008 Goudey Baseball Tiger Woods sport royalty base card (just to make this appropriate for these boards, barely :D )and

B)American Icon, Historic figure.

When will you ever come across another Earhart Cut? the Ryan is very nice don't get me wrong but he has 98 other patch autos from that set and is replaceable.

I'm a fan of proven history over hype, so I'd go B, but that's me. How many chances do you get to own her signature in your life?

This ones a toughie for me.

I would assume the cut auto would be worth more now? Or maybe not.

The Ryan could be a HUGE card in the future, possibly surpassing the cut auto in value?

I don't really collect aviation pioneers, but this one is a really cool one.

I just hope I don't get slaughtered value-wise if I give up the cut auto.

Depends on how risky you are. Ryan has a HUGE upside. Airheart on the other hand is a proven cut that can bring big money. If you're feeling risky then Ryan, if you want to play it safe then Airheart. Me, I'd go risky and take Ryan. Half way through next season when he's lighting it up next year you could easily double your money.

I do like Ryan's potential alot.

Does anyone think the Earhart would sell for more than $1500?

I don't know what either are worth, but I still wanted to give my two cents. I personally would rather have the cut, but there will never be another Ryan Exquisite rookie. New cuts will be made every year. Just something to think about.

Idk about $1500 but I think $1200-$1350 would be a safer range, but don't quote me.

That's actually a great point.

Thanks for all the great input so far, guys!

For those who choose B, do you think the cut auto is significantly more valuable than the Ryan right now, do you not like Ryan as a prospect, or do you just not care about football period? Do you also collect non-sport autographs as well? I'm curious about your rationale. Granted, the Amelia is a significantly rarer autograph than the Ryan, but I thought a very compelling point was that the Ryan is his absolute best autographed rookie card, and it will never be made again (only 99 copies will ever exist) so this kind of gives it a relative scarcity as well.

I think Ryan has the potential to be one of, if not the best QB in the league. If ATL is really as committed to winning as I see them being, I think the future value of that Ryan (especially with the AMAZING patch it has) is almost limitless. I would take A in a heartbeat (but I would try to find something other than a Tiger base SR..ewww)

i mean how much could the ryan actually go up? i mean look at adrian peterson...his cards are not expensive as they were during his rookie season when he was playing great even though last year he led the league in rushing and once again was the best back in the nfl
