For those who choose B, do you think the cut auto is significantly more valuable than the Ryan right now, do you not like Ryan as a prospect, or do you just not care about football period? Do you also collect non-sport autographs as well? I'm curious about your rationale. Granted, the Amelia is a significantly rarer autograph than the Ryan, but I thought a very compelling point was that the Ryan is his absolute best autographed rookie card, and it will never be made again (only 99 copies will ever exist) so this kind of gives it a relative scarcity as well.

yes this is his best rc auto but with amelia it will never lose its value...she cant do anything wrong to make the value lower were as it takes one injury or bad season to make the ryan drop significantly.

i mean how much could the ryan actually go up? i mean look at adrian peterson...his cards are not expensive as they were during his rookie season when he was playing great even though last year he led the league in rushing and once again was the best back in the nfl

I've looked back at the history of modern day football card prices, and the most valuable ones are always the quarterbacks. I mean, if Ryan ever achieves that Manning/Brady stratosphere, the potential for the card is HUGE.

Exquisite in football is kind of like bowman chrome in baseball. Before 2005, there was no other limited auto rookie like it. And so far, short of Peterson, no player has really panned out. Ryan has the potential to be one of the best exquisite rookie quarterbacks ever. It could sell for ALOT.

But like you said, there is that RISK of injury or just flopping.

Would you prefer a non sport autograph versus a sport one as a collector?

I've collected both sports and non sports. I mean nothing can really increase the value of Earhart, you've pointed out that you do risk injury with the Ryan.But I guess it's your standpoint on it,Ryan can easily drop overtime or increase overtime and has potential. But I mean I would much rather say I own an authentic Amelia Earhart signature then a Matt Ryan RC signature.

I would choose B.

I don't believe that Amelia has had many cut autos out there, even if you check eBay, there aren't many autos at all of her.

Yes the Ryan is sweet looking, and a great patch. But it is a game used or photo shoot jersey? As well as, would you be getting it to "prospect" or to have a really cool piece? If prospect, I'm not sure how much more room it has to grow right now. He would have to do better than what he did this past year, which was the best rookie season (tied with Flacco) of a rookie who started all the games for their team. I just don't see him taking them to the Super Bowl anytime soon.

Dude, there are 99 copies of the Ryan. There are only a handful of of Earhart autos out there. YOu can always get another Matt Ryan auto, but you may not have the opportunity to hit an Amelia again......EVER. I guess it all boils down to what you want to collect. If you are looking for a longterm investment, the Earhart seems to be the way to go. Ryan could tank this coming season or get hurt and you have a much less valuable card in your collection. Good luck on whatever ya decide to do.

This is easy. The cut will sell for more then the Ryan so sell the cut and go buy whatever Ryan YOU want (SPA,NT,EXQ) and still have some loot left over

I agree with the other poster. Can you substitute the tiger card with another card?

Ryan has a lot of potential and they were a playoff team last year. They almost beat the Cardinals in round 1 of the playoffs. Michael Turner had a bad game and Ryan threw two picks and fumbled twice as well. Yet, they lost 30-24.

Adding Tony Gonzalez to this team, they look prime for another playoff run.

Yes, the Earhart is rare, but who knows if topps buys one of her autos and inserts it in next years Allen and Ginter as a cut?

I'm not sure of the value of the Earhart, but I think Ryan has to have a bigger following.

I really don't collect autographs of non-sports figures, and when it came down to it, the razor auto was just a small scrap of paper. I think if the cut auto was out of a topps or upper deck product, I wouldn't have done the trade. I probably would have just sold it and bought the Ryan.

Just having a high end card of an active athlete I suppose was more exciting for me than having an aviation pioneer that I really have no connection to. I enjoy watching football and following sports, and for me it's worth the risk.

Besides, I only have $300 invested in the cut auto, so in essence, i'm into the Ryan for $300, still a good deal.

Seems even to me, with much more potential for profit on the Ryan's end. He has a chance to become the next Peyton Manning, and this is his best card.

If he becomes Rick Mirer, you are screwed! Do not take a prospectors opinion on such a high dollar issue. A prospector is like a slot machine player who will put 2 grand in the machine with a car on top of it. The always look at the what if. Well 99% of the time the what if does not happen. You have a better chance to win that car than Matt Ryan being the next Peyton Manning! Stick with the solid investment!
