Hmmm.... looks like some people jumped the gun here. Don't they look stupid now. How many times have you opened a thread that says I have xxxxx for sale. I will scan it if interested. And the thread get hits, posts, interest ect... Nobody ever gets bent out of shape over those threads.

I understand the dude dropped half a note, but I've seen this too many times where the effectivly mud up someones rep because they're paranoid and don't think. The rational thing to do is contact the seller, don't send payment if you're going to freak out about not getting a pic for 12 hours, wait for a pic before you pay. Never use gift on purchases over 100 bucks with new members. The op is on my no trade list now because I don't want my rep ruined because I can't catch a flight and hand deliver the card to his residence that night all the while streaming video from a helmet cam.

Its like the guy who did his research after he bought that triple bat card from cardboardpimpin. Do research BEFORE you buy. Not after, and then go dig up personal stuff about the guy because YOU were the one who couldn't do the research on the actual card in question. You would think someone with such great detective skills would have done a little better job initially.

You gotta realize how that is unavoidable. The only boards where everyone gets along are small boards. FCB has kinda grown to the point that there can be some garbage expected. Gotta take the good with the bad.

Devil's advocate is the way to go. There is ALWAYS a second side to each and every story. I was insulted by a couple of knuckleheads on here for questioning a "respected" member on here and not just taking his word for gospel. Turns out, the questioning was justified.

Just facts:

1. While I am NOT the OP I was the 1st buyer and had paid on Monday evening (I believe the others paid on Tuesday).

2. I messaged the seller and told him I had paypal to buy when I saw a scan. He provided me a scan on Monday evening, I paid a minute later (NOT gift).

3. Tuesday I was searching active Strasburg autos and saw one that looked similar to the scan he gave me. Upon further research it was pretty evident that it was the same. This got me a little nervous.

4. Tueday evening I see "The Thread" and about piss myself. To date this is the biggest purchase for a single card I have ever made. He never expressed that he had multiple copies so now I am really scared.

5. Wed morning I see that in my Paypal account a tracking number has been provided. I start to feel a little better. But no response from the seller worries me.

6. This evening I run to the computer mulch covered and sun burnt to find the thread is now going on 8 pages. In my inbox I see the pic of all five Strasburgs. OK. The DC# still shows no acceptance from a PO yet though.

This is what I know so far and I had a gut feeling even through the sketchy times that the guy would come through. I've been on the other side of a false accusation from a well respected member, it's not fun. Hopefully anyone who is waiting for a Stras can keep in touch with each other and this will turn out to be a positive experience for all involved.
