Well the only undercard fight I cared about was Yves fight. And he totally choked McKenzie out. Feel free to discuss the fights as they are happening.

Oh yeah, I don't think we will be seeing Sam in this thread, as the UFC is supporting the troops

Poor Sam.
Hope they show the replay of the Yves fight. Will be nice to see Cody get his own medicine. Kid was a "Banks".

*Wonder if Sammy got on the UFC link on facebook and checked out the pics of his boy Stann at Fort Hood, hanging with his battalion of 42.

Mitrione, big big win. What a fast fast HW. Chris Lytle certainly is showing Matt how to use those big ass paws!

Just finished watching.

Mittrione is growing on me.

I have no horse in the race, and I don't really know what could be done, but you can"t let that illegal knee by Guillard just go. You have to do something. I don't care if Dunham was done for, you can't just allow that to happen without repurcussion.

Sucks McKenzie got choked out.

Impressed with Hominick too.

Sam if I remember correctly, Melvin was already in the process of throwing that knee before Dunham's hand touched the ground. I honestly can't remember though for sure. Haven't seen it again. If it was a blatanant (sp) illegal knee thought they would have done something about it.

I believe Dunham was already on his ass and his upper body was falling to his right when the knee was thrown. I yelled at the TV instantly that it was illegal, even before Rogan had a chance to mention it.

It was close, but it wasn't blatant or illegal. It was the product of momentum. Nothing more.
Dunham wasn't already on his ass or hand down as that "illegal knee" was already coming for his face. The impact and down of Dunham just happened at the same time. Melvin stopped immediately.

Here's the fight:

I think Joe's job is still safe. It was clean.

I've watched a GIF of the knee multiple times on Sherdog. The knee connects pretty much right when Dunham hits the ground. He's sliding down the cage and Melvin starts to throw the knee and he hits the ground like a split second before the knee hits him.

I think these are tough. It obviously had no impact on the fight as Dunham was pretty much already out on his feet. Also it wasn't blatant or malicious. I don't think they should do anything and I don't really think they can do anything. If they turned it into a NC that would be an absolute travesty. Maybe they would fine him but not likely.

I must say, Melvin is very very close to being in the upper echelon of the 155ers. His takedown defense looked great yesterday. Everyone knows about his standup so if he can keep fights on the feet he can certainly KO anyone.

Agreed. I see a 155 version of Rashad with his head movement and his speed is incredible. Not to mention, he can wrestle. I think he is going to push a lot of guys in that division.
