UFL starts tonight....who knew?

It would be nice to have a place like NFL Europe was , where someone can develop or maybe someone who fell through the cracks can prove themselves and get a chance to make the big time.

Theres already a league like this/for this, its called the CFL.

That is true to some extent, but in a lot of ways the CFL is also a different game. It may not be as bizarre as the AFL, but I think the larger field, forward motion, 3 downs, 12 on 12 and even the fact the ball is bigger than the NFL, among other things all drastically change the game. Because of this I don't think it can be a "true alternative" (or minor league) to the NFL.
