I would have overnighted it to BGS, got it slabbed ASAP, then listed it BIN/BO. Especially if nothing new gets listed by then you would probably get some insane offers rather than an auction. BIN/BO is almost always the best way to go imo

I found the deal so I am getting most of the profit. Boomo will do nicely too. Has nothing to do with what i pitched in.

Whether you grade it or not is not what bothers me. The .99 auction style vs BIN/BO is the part I see not going so well.
A high BIN with BO is a no brainer. The only way I would list this.

I have two things to say about this, one congratulations. I saw this card and I knew that it was going to go for a steal even if the by now it's hit, unfortunately I also didn't have the money for it-I guess it's good to know people. Secondly, I think you're leaving around $500 on the table by not getting it graded. If it costs $90 for 2 day BGS service, your cost is at $1200, then you figure the shipping and handling to BGS and from, as well as to bomo you are looking at about $1350. If the card was sent in for grading tomorrow, you should get it back on Saturday, and you could listed on Sunday for seven-day auction. It would be the first 9.5 orange on eBay (I think it might be the first 2011 9.5 regardless) therefore it would command a premium. Honestly, if I had the money, I would buy it from you non graded at $2200 (assuming you would sell it for that) get it graded and resell it. By the time all is said and done, this card is going to exchange hands more than 3 times and I guarantee you it's going to sell for more every time, I just don't understand why you would take advantage of getting it graded now and having that much more profit. Absolute worst-case scenario the card only sells for $1000 more than you paid.

just looks to me like you want to get the card out of your hands ASAP and get whatever cash you can for it with as little trouble as possible. Which i can understand for someone who doesnt have the $ to spend on the card in the first place.
I would have bought it, sent it in for the 2 day grade and list it with a BIN/BO. You will still do alright with letting the card run, but nobody likes to leave money on the table let alone hundreds of dollars.

Not having it graded is just leaving money on the table needlessly. I also don't see the need to consign an individual high dollar card that you have in hand, but obviously that's up to you.

Boomo is going to look over the card real nice when he gets it tomorrow and see if its worth the grading. He's going to the shriners show on friday and BGS will be there, so we can get it graded there.
I'm thinking the auction might be a bad idea as well. He's letting me decide what I want to do so hopefully I can make the right decisions in the end!

Its the hottest player on earth, his now best card on earth, in an orange. Blues are getting 800-900, there is no way the card does poorly, much more than 2 people will want it. Andy got a steal, i helped him out, he knows i need my end 1st for that, but he is perfectly welcome to do whatever he wants. And for those who asked, this isnt consignment, he is just having me sell it cus its easier and i have a solid following, and i dont think he has a scanner, and cell phone pics aint gonna cut it.

Didn't bring a scanner to college and Matt has more experience with listing on ebay than I do. Therefore it's easier if he deals with everything then if I do.

Congrats to the op on the find and steal. Very, very nice of Boomo for helping out financially and with the listing. Each of them should turn a nice little profit for basically doing nothing. Can't ask for more than that!
