Money is going to influence this draft more then anything. D-backs will be cheap due to cash flow problems. D-backs may be the only team to take the MLB loan being offered to teams this season, Padres do not have a set budget, the draft eligible sophmores may opt to go back to college, and the Cubs new ownership is already having cash flow problems.....

Braves prefer Shelby Miller and they have been at the last 4 games to watch Wes Mugarian from Catholic HS Pensacola Florida. They are there today along with with the D-backs, Rays, and Cubs. I think they pluck him with their 2nd or 3rd pick.

Absolutely NO WAY that the Brewers go after a first round outfielder. Personally, I am hoping Skaggs falls a bit.

If Tate goes before Atlanta I see them taking Wheeler. However, Tate is not "that great" of a talent. Per the guy I know whose kid has played summer ball with him. He has an "ok" bat. He is not playing against the best talent in the state.
He said Tate was a better football prospect than baseball

That is contrary to every published report by professionals who do this stuff for a living ... so I will take that for what it's worth.

He's just an athlete playing baseball, doesn't really have the natural baseball abilities it sounds like...

yea.. he is an incredible athlete but it does not always translate into a "uber prospect" status. I think he could be an incredible baseball talent but he has to work on hitting. His division here in GA is not the best of the best. Cartersville plays my old H.S. and we are AAA (considering the larger programs are AAAAA) So, take that as you may. no contrary to all of that, Jason Heyward was playing inferior talent, and look where he is.. so, maybe he'll be great, maybe he won't be. Only time will tell. Regardless, I am getting a ball signed by him, and Wheeler

There is no way that the Yanks should Draft another catcher. Maddox is good don't get me wrong, but Montero, Romine, Cervelli! The Yanks don't need anymore catchers.

He's supposed to be a pretty decent pitcher too, and alot of people don't see Montero staying behind the plate when he comes up and Romine will be there instead, and Maddox could maybe play leftfield or 3rd or something, plus they could probably trade him for something decent.

Is this list from somewhere or just made up from you?

Either way, as good as Tate might be, the Tigers seem to always pick pitching in the first round. Who knows though, he is basically a Maybin like athlete, so they might take a shot again. I could see that too.

Why waste a pick and if the Yanks intentions would be to trade Maddox, than that would be a waste of time. The Yanks need a bang right out of the gate. Montero is their catcher of the future and I can't see Romine over taking him.

I haven't heard or read anything from one person who thinks that Montero is going to stay at catcher. Assuming even if he does, its going to be a short experiment. Nothing wrong with taking one of of the hardest positions to fill in a draft that has plenty of catchers that should stick at catcher.

A team that takes Tate is not going to have him helping out anytime soon and he is going to want a MLB contract and the Braves dont get them out. You can rule out the Mariners and Padres also with Tate because they will be wanting Tulo and Longoria type troop movement.

Pirates are wanting a college bat that will move quickly to join the trio of Pedro, Jose, and Andruw.

Did he say that he wants a big league deal? Because if he has, he might as well pull his name out of the draft, as there have been what, two prep players to get big league deals?

Man I'm looking forward to this years draft. TONS of great talent that the O's could pick up.
Just hope the O's do the right thing.

White, Purke, Givens, Minor, Ackley, Gibson.
