I wouldn't buy that for $400. Recently a PSA/DNA Joe D signed baseball went for $337.88.

I'd probably pass on this one, especially at that price. If you really want a Joe D cut auto card, wait for one where his name isn't cut off. As one of the previous posters said, with all the Joe D cuts that are supposed to be in Prime Cuts, you may see prices soften on them for a while.

personally, 400 is steep. can be had for around 300 if you shop around

http://cgi.ebay.com/Joe-DiMaggio-03-Leg ... dZViewItem

also, from the 03 sp legendary cut series, there are 2 variations. one blue, one red if i remember correctly, #ed to /50 or /40

so if you buy one, you would want to get the other variation (or is that just me since i love to pick up variations. lol)

before you commit, shop around from other sets.

def. pass on 08 prime cuts. way too many out there.

i actually like the 06 exquisite design and it can be had for around 325-350 if you shop around as well

good luck with whatever you decide though

cant go wrong joe d

First of all $400 is a fine price for that cut auto.

IMO I would buy a canceled check or another piece that is un-cut, $400 will get you something good whichever way you go.

Is it just me or do those look like a different person signed each one?

Either way the top one looks better IMO.

IMO, buy an older one, they may be slightly more expensive. I have a 2001 Leg Cuts Joe D Cut auto (nft/nfs, my favorite card). I paid 400 on it, and don't regret it at all, its gorgeous!

I agree with other posters about cuts being over-priced. I picked this up for $114 back in 2007.

DiMaggioJoe.jpg

I don't have it anymore since I sold off my entire HOFer auto collection. But, personally, I have a hard time justifying spending an extra $285 just so the item fits in a toploader.

As for the other poster with the Mantle - kind of cool that ours were within 7 digits on the serial #. Like the DiMaggio, I don't have this anymore. But it only cost me $215 earlier this year. So for less than the price of the cut, you could have nice sigs of both players and extra spending money. Good luck with your choice!
