YET ONE MORE CHANCE TON WIN A FREE SLOT TODAY!

From 10am to 10pm, simply post your favorite BASEBALL player or team
That is it... at 10pm no more posts will be counted and no later than 10:30pm I will randomize and pick one user that posted the info...
Simple enough & way to get to know us better, if we don't already...

My favorite player for many years has been Lance Berkman - several reasons, but overall a good Christian man that I really respect... he has had has ups 7 downs on the field, but still enjoy watching him when I can...
Also enjoy Vladimir & Hanley
Plus as a biggie for me, all 3 of these guys were on my Strat-o-matic Team together for 3 straight years as my 3 keepers a few years back, if you are familiar with the game...

As a side note...For football I like D-Mac, Felix Jones, & the old man Favre.... but ultimate fave is KURT WARNER

Let the posting begin!

I love Josh Johnson. On and off the field, he has a quiet demeanor and isn't overly emotional. A far cry from what I'm like, when I'm watching him pitch

Mariano Rivera.. His determination to go from an outfielder to pitching just so he could play pro ball. He stuck it out and didn't quit and he without a doubt made a great choice. It made him a very humble and down to earth person over the years. Plenty would of walked away but he didn't and it's a great ethic to have.

The Texas Rangers are my favorite team. I grew up with them. Went to watch their games with my youth baseball teams. Listened to Mark Holtz and Eric Nadel broadcast their games on the radio. Rooted for players ranging from Jim Sundberg and Pete Incaviglia to Geno Petralli and Elvis Andrus. Great to see them in the playoffs again. Thanks for the contest!

Hey Brent thanks for the break and the generous giveaway.
I am new here only been on 3 days now and love it so far!

A quick bit about me.

I grew up in NY (currently living in PA, and it is rough to be a NY fan here) and my favorite player of all time is Howard Johnson, followed closely by David Wright. I was a newspaper delivery boy as a teen and covered the route Hojo lived on.

I have been fortunate enough to meet David in the bar attached to Citizens Bank Park after a Mets/Phillies game in 2006 along with Ryan Howard, Cliff Floyd, Paul Lo Duca, & Jose Lima the bar was packed and the guys who were ridiculously down to earth were somehow unbelievably not really seen or hounded at a side table I got to spend about 15 minutes chatting with the guys (didn't ask for pics or auto's out of respect 4 them). I suppose out of the experience I ended up almost liking Howard as well, (great guy but plays for the enemy..lol) was before the HR derby win and his value explosion w/o geeking out I shook his hand (which engulfed my hand) and told him he hits bombs..lol, this is the geeking out part I told him I had invested heavily in his rookie cards (2001 UD 26 bgs9.5's and about 50 raw) and I was glad he got the chance to man 1st first finally (Thome) and he was going to make me some paper.
End of story is he won Derby several months later and made a ROI for me that was 10 fold.

My favorite basketball players are Starks (his 2001 "The Dunk" May 25th 1993 refractor auto card is the pride of my current collection) and Allan Houston who I wanted to stay in detroit b/c I felt he would never reach his potential in NY, what do I know..lol

Thanks again and hope I wasn't too wordy just wanted to share an anecdote about my boy and introduce myself a bit.
I am going to commit to a couple of slots but still debating how many to sign up for.
Joe
