The only thing I don't get is, why are these selling at Walmart for $10.98?
NOTHING else in the card section of my Walmart has these 25% off stickers on them, and these would sell as well at $14.98

By the way, Walmrt has nothing to do with topps whatsoever. These are all stocked/controlled/sold through distribution companies.



These products are supplied to the Walmart locations and shelf space is distribution company called Becket (sp?, but not the Beckett from TX) in my area.

Walmart rents shelf space, that's it.

You obviously no nothing on how retail stores operate. I spent my entire life developing products for stores such as Wal Mart. I have been to their headquarters many times getting products approved to be placed on their shelfs. They are all about value addition and how to distinguish themselves from their competition.

Why do you think there are exclusives for Target and Walmart made by Topps, especially if Walmart had nothing to do with it.

You don't know what your talking about here.

I've been to the Bentonville sweat shop too... the next time I visit the Planogram room I will ask about the Cards aisle. I can guarantee that Walmart does care what goes on every shelf, either directly through their buyers, or indirectly through a distributor. I believe that the slotting fees for shelf space is priced by the square inch, and if the sales velocity doesn't warrant it, a product won't be back.

In 2002 I emailed B.S. (a Wal Mart buyer) that their 3 card Bowman Chrome packs were a horrible deal because of the extremely long odds of hitting an auto compared to the hobby counterpart. I didn't even go back to look in 2003, but I have to wonder if the Wal Mart product didn't improve drastically over the 2002. People listen when Wal Mart talks, they are that important.

I agree with the post above me about Wal Mart caring about the products and people "going the extra mile" for them. The company I work for is one of the many suppliers of produce for Wal-Mart. If there is a problem, rather it be bad produce, sizing, paperwork issue, not following their rules etc., a call goes out and gets back to us and we fix it. Needless to say they always get the freshest. You treat your bigger customers a little better.

Went by one to see if they had any Value Boxes. Saw 5 and a few 2011 Topps Chrome FB blasters. $27.99 per TC and $17.99 per Value.

Hopefully you're not in the midwest. Our Wally had the shittiest produce in town for about 6 months last year.

They are still the most expensive, even though the quality has gotten better.

I am totally fine with them putting great cards in retail, and I am aware that the value box packs are hobby packs; I just can't get over the fact that they are putting such great cards in such cheap boxes.

As a hobby box buyer, I just feel a little betrayed.

This is based on opinion, but I firmly believe it: Topps, your first main issue is that all superfractors need to be in only hobby boxes, not value boxes, not retail boxes; if someone wants a shot at a superfractor, they should only get it from a hobby box.

2) Damaged cards has been on the rise while customer service has been on the decline, and if you want customers to handle the insult of a damaged card or the disrespect of a rude associate, you should at least have given them an overall good product.

If you want my business Topps, you need to change those two things; I swear I'm teetering on the edge of boycotting Topps.

I want you to think about how they packs are inserted off of the production line; maybe topps goes "hey, maybe we better make the value boxes look good this year and put some nicer cards in the boxes so people will actually buy them" and by the time that message gets to the production line, the workers go "ok, so we're supposed to put a ton of the high end cards in the value boxes, will do!"

I have a right to my beliefs; you don't like it, tough ****.

And as a sidenote: I'm not angry, just disappointed in topps.

BTW, I may or may not have pulled some nice cards out of the value boxes myself; and as I said earlier, I'm not angry, just disappointed in topps.

I think its great that nice hits are coming out of retail. Now when people are heading to the check out line, they will stop and take a look at what is available. Plus, as someone else previously mentioned, hobby stores are drying up. People still want to bust wax, but there may not be a shop close to them. Then you have people who may not be able to swing $50-60+ on hobby boxes, but can afford the $10-20 blasters and value boxes.

I really hope that they continue to have value boxes have value. I look forward to the 2012 value boxes.

I like your perspective; I guess one thing is that dying hobby stores kill me inside........ :(
