•That same year, fans threw D batteries at St. Louis Cardinals outfielder J.D. Drew, who held out for a year after the Phillies drafted him and eventually signed with the Cards instead.
•Matthew Scott, the only person in the United States to have received a hand transplant, was asked by the Phillies to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the team's home opener in 1999. The pitch, from his transplanted hand, dribbled over the plate. The fans booed.
•Eagles fans famously blasted Santa Claus with a shower of snowballs at halftime of a game as St. Nick circled helplessly around the field before stadium officials rescued him.
It's pretty well known that Philadelphia fans as a whole are terrible people.
I hope you're joking.
Just like every city there will be d-bags that do something stupid and all of the sudden everybody gets a reputation. The majority of Phillies are good people. It always seems to be the drunks that spoil it. I would love to go to a game where beer wasn't sold. I bet a lot of family's would too.
Rosenblatt Stadium that hosts the College World Series does not sell beer during the series but the street outside has a few beer gardens and then people are allowed to tailgate so the drunks always find there way in. It is nice to see though that no beer gets sold, keeps people from becoming even more drunk

I do want to go there someday. I don't even live that far either.
