Yes, they bought a Josh Gibson game model bat - I don't believe it was ever 100% definitively proven to have been used by Gibson. I think it was proven to be made for him, but whether or not it was used in practice, a game, or never I don't believe has been verified.
More knowledgeable members can correct me if I'm wrong.

I doubt I'm any more knowledgeable then you are ha. I think you are right on. It was not proven to be game used. It was forsure a bat made for him but that's all. Still is really cool

Mantle patch came from the old timers jersey right? I had a chance to pick that one up on two or three occasions but never pulled the trigger. Great card though!

This set is making it tougher to get these types of cards as we all are snapping everything up and having bidding wars against each other..
Can we go back in time? I'd love to invest in cases of Donruss from when they produced these cards.. I could retire!!

I would LOVE to go back to 2003!! Just to have to opportunity to open the DLP products as they came out!! There was alot of HUGE hits I missed out on

225-250 is the value of that card. Nice card but has already been said not 500 nice
