I won this right before my trip to Colombia and when I came back it was waiting for me at home. Definitely one of my biggest single item purcheses ever! Also it rarely shows up for auction, but when I saw it, there was also a Lajoie rookie from the same set and in really nice condition AND he's pictured as a Philadelphia Athletic (my favorite team being the A's). It was really hard to pass that one up but I only had enough funds for 1 and not both. Ultimately I just couldn't get it out of my mind that if I won, I would have a Honus Wagner Rookie from the 1800's! Also I ended up winning it for a VERY Good price to boot!

so without further adieu.......an 1899 M101-1 Sporting News Supplement Honus Wagner Rookie

As the curator of one of the world’s worst T206 collections, I am proud to announce number 514. I am now down to ten cards to complete “The Monster”. (…a feat which I do not see happening barring a lottery win!)

when talking about The Monster, there is no such thing as the "worst" T206 collection. They're all beautiful. Congrats on #514!

Wow I love the Nolan Ryan! Ecspecially because he played for the Astros.

Great pickups Eric. That hole punch in the Clemente RC doesn't really take a whole lot from the look of the card. Clean bright white edges and no creasing from what I can see. Beautiful card.

Gossage and Blyleven from my pals 4 sharp corners by chance. If so, those guys have filled some holes in my collection with some nice high grade cards

Great pickups. I wonder if the previous owner had a lot of those Topps 55's in some kind of punch card holder... :?:

I didn't realize there was a vintage board  . I will just copy and paste my post from the other board.

Bought a nice little collection of vintage today. Some are in very nice shape and some a super rare!! Pretty stoked about the whole lot! I will be sending them all off for grading. I am not a member of PSA so I will probably end up sending them to SGC. What do you guys think?

Here is the haul:

1951 Bowman #148 Granny Hamner & #241 Irv Horen
1952 Bowman #231 Dee Fondy, #239 Dale Mitchell, #241 Mel Parnell, & #248 Bill Werle
