Re: OFFICIAL- Vintage Pickup Thread.

Danny, I sent you a PM on the Santo.

Just picked up this one a few hours ago...I REALLY have to stop buying stuff for a while now. I couldn't pass this up though, as it's a Piedmont Factory 42. Tough to find and even tougher to find for a decent price. Enjoy!

Great Pick-ups everyone......there have been some true "vintage" flashes on this board recently! I finally found some time between the New Baby and traveling for work to scan some new additions to my 1955 Topps set.

Keep your eye out for more other additions throughout the week!

 You are well on your way to 206 cards! Great pick ups. You will probably finish your 55' set way before I finish mine. Your photobucket looks great! Keep up the great work! The High Series (161-206) will give you some problems they are very condition senstive because of centering problems.

Thanks someone else told me it was an early auto, I had no idea I knew it didn't look like any I had seen as I owned a 1992 Score auto at one time, the 54 cost me just under $1250. Here's a link to my set since I'm sure some of you guys haven't seen my thread on the main baseball board. If any of you have signed or unsigned one I can use ttm let me know.

Re: OFFICIAL- Vintage Pickup Thread.

I just won these two cards tonight so I can add to my growing T205 Rustlers (Braves) collection:

T205_BECK.jpg
Fred Beck
T205_GOODE.jpg
Wilbur Goode

I only need 3 more cards and I will have a full team!

Hey! Can I ask where you got that? Ebay? Net54? I saw that card somewhere this week and was actually kicking it around. Awesome card. I love me some Big Train!

Yes...ebay...had my snipe at 227 and got for 150, so quite pleased! Glad you didn't go against me :)

THanks...no, I have picked up several, but sold them all when I bought my convertible, but now I am back to collecting again. ;)

Great additions, minpin. The old Redlegs logo is classic.

Re: OFFICIAL- Vintage Pickup Thread.

Nice T201, hofautos. Walter Johnson is my 2nd favorite pre-war player, behind Cobb. His T206 portrait has been at the top of my wantlist for a while now....I just have to pay off some bills before I can afford to buy it.

Very nice additions. Its not the names of the players, but the quality of the cards on those. Anyway, they were ALL stars to me when I was a kid!

Dano,

It must have been great to be alive when some of the greats played ball. Since most greats were just starting their HOF careers and others like Ted Willams were towards the end of his. Did you get a chance to watch some of these guys in person at the ballpark?

My parents weren't big into sports, but they took me to see a double header in Washington when the Yankees visited, in 1962.
I watched most of them on TV and learned a lot about the players, the game and the teams through collecting cards.
