It's Schadenfreude. Sorry, but a bit of a nitpick when it comes to being able to spell a word one tries to say. Comes with the teaching field I suppose.![]()

This is not a knock on the people who run FCB, but a knock on the whiny little trolls who love to spew unwarranted negativity and spout conspiracy theories about everything and anything. It really sucks too, because I really enjoy his take on customer relations and his "pushing" the MLB companies to try and do better. It's awesome to have a CEO of a baseball card company that will basically hang out with us and talk sportscards on here... and he will certainly pack up and leave if he has to continue putting up with this freaking nonsense. It's sad that all the flamers have to constantly bash every little thing about a company that is simply trying to succeed financially and make a product that we will like. I can see that Razor isn't welcome here by a select few, and I'm guessing it will lead to Razor wanting to get the hell away from these boards... thanks guys.
+1
And its a damn shame.

You tip a waitress for good service. You tip a blackjack dealer when you're on a roll. You give bonuses to your assistants if you've had a great year. You give some free product to the group that helps you the most.

No one is disagreeing Brian and Razor as a company are in it for the money and that they're on the board because it benefits them. That presence, in turn, benefits the board members whether it be through freebies or general information about a product.
I agree with others, however, in that Brian is going about business in the "right" way. He's making a buck, giving a certain group of collectors what they want, listening to his customers, and (whether you like it or not) lighting a fire under the asses of the other sports cards companies.
Razor is not the only thing influencing the decisions of Topps--economy, reception of 2008 BC--but you can't deny they're not aware of how he's running the operation. And because of that I have a general support for Razor.

Based on the data accumulated, and in this thread, I don't think Razor had a major influence on Topps. Some, yes, but not major. Bottom line, does it matter?

I think we can both agree that the bolded people are idiots then.
Now, whether or not Brian's way of going about accumulating players for his checklists will rub off on the other companies...we'll wait and see. If Topps starts doing exclusives, it won't be debatable anymore.
