Not 9.5 worthy as well? Peh. ;)

we didn't have them graded

there was some chipping
If you would have printed those with me you wouldn't have to worry about condition :)

the chipping problems on these two cards aren't common in the set

most of them should grade well

the company that printed them did an EXCELLENT job

those are awesome!!

who got them signed that fast?
I got them signed a few weeks before the National and gave two to Chris. Beckham thought they were cool and he (obviously) had never seen them before.

In regards to Beckett slabbing them...Beckett has no issue at all with FCB and they actually monitor this site as you would expect. Beckett Grading has also been extremely generous to FCB with the great group grading prices we have been getting. Basically, it's a win/win for both sides.

The "mass exodus" from Beckett's newsgroups didn't really affect their serious bottom line so we're not considered an "enemy" in Dallas.

Monitor it how?

Big Brother is ALWAYS watching, DUH! lol

So they care now?Why wonder what we are up to?Hell...they could have known the whole time easily if they didn't decide to go all jihad on their website.

In regards to Beckett "monitoring" the site, perhaps that wasn't the perfect word choice. Basically, Beckett, like all of the hobby players obviously keeps an eye on the trends and opinions in the hobby. FCB is great venue for companies to hear the praise and complaints.

No...I understood.I just figure its a little weird for them to act like they care now when they would have known a lot easier had they not went crazy with their site.

True to a point. Beckett couldn't harness any of the buying power from the boards, and if it wasn't making them money at a time when they really began to reanalyze their business model why focus on it.

Of course, it wasn't just the newsgroups that they killed...but actually their entire site. And even today, the Beckett.com is not cohesive, not fully functional and the parts that do work are completely counter intuitive. I think their primary fault was the silly arrogant approach to their new website when it was released. Seriously, have you ever been to another consumer based website that offered video tutorials on how to use it? They got completely fleeced from the design/production team who created that site, almost to a comical extent.

Beckett.com basically reinvented the wheel with a hexagon. Sure you can still move forward, but it's extremely uncomfortable and is not a good ride.

Yeah but if Beckett couldn't harness any buying power from its boards...I suppose the same could be said about every website out there right?I mean...FCB doesn't harness any of our buying power does it?I do think Gilmore somehow may make money based on how many hits we get and how much useage we have(I may be wrong but I remember somebody mentioning it).Which is a good thing.Gilmore created this place for us so I would not shed a bead of sweat worrying if he made enough to keep this place running and a little extra for his time. The better off and easier it is for Gilmore to keep this place running the better off it is for us.

So I would say Beckett could have done about the same.Which it looks like that is just about all you can for sure ask unless you have a site like ebay(which beckett kinda does with the market place). My point is they did what they did for a unexplainable and dumb reason. It doesn't seem to make sense from any standpoint.Change for change's sake. And now they most likely have less users than they did so now they make less money off of any hits or users.

Sorry to get off topic. That is a pretty snazzy card Gilmore.
