Pretty simple really. Names and wantlists are submitted and everyone is randomly assigned a "victim".

You then shop for your victim and send their gift by a designated time in a festive mailer/box/package.

Then we all choose a day to open/scan/show off.

A_Pharis summed up the spirit of it pretty well last night...

" Though I won't be joining in this year, I will say that a lot of generous people exist in the MT. Though $50 is a minimum - a lot of us generally go above and beyond. Part of that, though, is understanding the $50 minimum... because we know it's not easy for everyone to spend a lot on cards when family comes first.

Give to give. Don't give with the anticipation of what you'll receive."

Well just talked to financial aid, and all I have to do is email them telling them what happened, and that I would need to ask for them to look to see if I qualify for any other grants or student loans ::facepalm::

Good morning, guys.

I apologize for the delay, but I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes. I really appreciate it. I've been busy with work and appointments, so I haven't had the chance to be around much. It means a lot that you guys thought enough to wish me happy birthday.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the $50 minimum is for one card... if you put together a gift of multiple items, that minimum is higher but you have to use your discretion for what to spend, etc. - just can't put together 50 $1 cards ;)
