Did get to spend about 3-4 hours with him... they dressed him up and called in a photographer to take tons of photos. We are trying again, but no luck yet. Also have gone through 2 phases of adoption interviews, as we want to open up that possibility. However, to do so, we will need financial assistance from family members, as that is quite expensive.

I think you and I have talked in the past. . .
First and foremost, I am so sorry for your loss. I have had two boys and everything went so flawlessly, from conception to birth to where they are now (just turned 11 and 5), that I forget what a miracle is really is. Keep a positive attitude and things will work out.
In re: the adoption front, we just had some friends go through the process with an agency here. The family was matched within a week (half african american, half white baby) and had a baby within 2 months. It was not cheap, but the point of my post -- the agency is in Florida. I assume you're in Tallahassee (FSU c/o '95!) If you're interested, I can get the info.
Good luck... Go Noles!

Yes, I still live in Tallahassee and am FSU c/o '95 for undergrad, '99 for masters! GO NOLES! Thank you for the info. My wife wants to use an adoption law center rather than an agency, as it often takes much less time (granted, 2 months is lightning fast for an agency or law center). If we go the adoption route, we are probably going to do an open adoption. I have a friend from high school who used an agency and it took her and her husband over 2 years before they were matched. The law center that we interviewed with placed over 600 newborns last year, and wait time varies from 4-13 months. With our situation, they believe we would be on the shorter end of that. We'll give it a few more months of trying and then talk to some select family members that might be able to fund the financial aspects of an adoption for us. We would rather spend all of our spare money on the baby itself, rather than paying back loans just to get the baby.

I used to go by "Jeff N." - don't know if that rings any bells.
We apparently graduated at the same time... Spring 95? What was your major? I graduated with a BS in Accounting.
I wish you all the luck in the world with both conception and the adoption. Not sure the difference between a "law center" and an "agency" -- is there one?
