Hey everyone!

Wow, I kinda haven't been on here in forever, but I have quite a few stories to share.

First & foremost, I had taken a break from collecting since the fall. I went down to Florida and stayed with my girlfriend for a month and that took priority over collecting. Then I ended up going out on the road with Halestorm for their Holiday tour which also sucked up whatever little money I had leftover. Only pickups I've had were from my brother & parents over Christmas which were a handful of Mike Green Certified parallels, one of which was a gold that was 01/25. Things changed big time in the last month or so, and I decided to move to Florida. I'm now located in Gainesville (Home of UF) and it took me under 10 days to find a full-time 40+ hour a week job which is more then enough to get by down here. I'm finally starting to hit up eBay again, only change is I'm just buying, and it's ONLY Mike Green. I picked up an SPx jersey and a couple other smaller things that are in transit. Really liking all the new stuff that's coming out, it looks FANTASTIC. I've also gotten myself a gig shooting UF Softball and I gotta say that's quite a trip.

Now let's discuss the Caps a bit. I'm really not satisfied with what's been going on this year with everything. It seems like everythings going down the drain, we haven't secured 1st place in the Southeast for quite awhile, and at this rate, I'm not thinking too highly about going too deep in the playoffs. The goalie situation isn't good, Varly has been so sharp the last couple seasons, but he's been injured out the *****, Neuvy keeps getting little tweaks now and then, and as much of a Holtby fan I am, he's not gonna cut it right now as a starter. I am however liking what we did at the deadline. In the event that Mike Green remains out, Dennis Wideman is going to fit in really well. Even if Mike does return, they could make a deadly blue-line combo together. Arnott is a great addition too, hell, he threw the puck to Brooksie and got the primary assist to tie the game his first night in the new colors. It's good we got a veteran presence like that and hopefully he can do the same thing that Sergei Fedorov did when we brought him in a few years back. Throw Sturm in too and I think that fills in the holes we've needed to fill in for quite awhile now.

One more interesting story while we're at it. As many of you know, I'm a HUGE Mike Green fan and he's my number one collecting goal. I also own his game-worn jersey from the world championships in 08. I've been debating ever since I got it if I should have him sign it or not, and after taking it 3 times, and somehow missing him, I thought maybe that was a sign that I should keep it as-is. One day though I said I'm gonna give it one last go and if I miss him, it'll remain unsigned forever. But that day he didn't evade me, and thus.....

(Here's a pic of him signing it, I got a picture of us both holding it up, but unfortunately the guy taking the picture didn't get most of the jersey in it so I didn't even bother with it)

Mike's always been a good guy, and he was more then willing to put the inscription on there which made me quite happy.

I thought that day was already pretty good, but it would get better. As I was watching practice, I saw a blonde guy come up behind me and say "hey Greener!" while he was on the ice and pretty much right infront of me at the time. He turned around and laughed and then went back to practicing. I went back up to the stands and I noticed 2 more guys were watching with him and they both had Ducks shirts on. For some reason 2 and 2 didn't go together until I heard someone say "oh, yea, the Ducks are practicing when the Caps are done" and I immidietly went "HOLY CRAP!!!". Teams do occasionally practice at KCI if they come in a day early but I'd never been lucky enough to catch one of those. My friends have been lucky enough to see the Penguins, Rangers, and Bruins practice. I went to the store and got a bunch of pucks and got a few autographs before they went on and when the went off. I bought 6 pucks and got Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf, Bobby Ryan, Teemu Selanne, and Jonas Hiller. Got pics with all of them too. Lubomir Visnovsky came off the ice, and I stepped back because I had 1 puck left and was waiting for Jason Blake. As he finished signing and was walking away I noticed the blade on one of his sticks was cracked. I go "hey Lubomir" and he says "yea?" and I asked if I could have the broken stick. He kind of hesitated but proceded to hand it to me and I got to take this home along with the Mike Green jersey that day.

Can you say best practice ever? Yep.

So that pretty much concludes my landmine post lol. I'll be on more and more, just wanted to catch you guys up whats been going on lately in my life. Hope you enjoyed :)

welcome back Terry!!!

seems like you have had quite an adventurous last few months. congrats on moving to Florida and finding a full time job. did you work for Halestorm? the Green gamer looks incredible signed as does the Visnovsky stick.

as for the Caps not having a great season I must say I am shocked as well. I really thought the Caps would have a much stronger offensive season after last seasons early Playoff exit. I realize the plan is to focus on the defensive game more but the plan really hasn't worked out. the Pens are having the same troubles right now and if they face each other in the 1st Round it should be a great series but I am not sure the winner will move on past the 2nd Round.

I don't wanna say "work" but I do a lot of stuff for them and get quite a bit in return. Fun stuff!

They just really confuse me sometimes. They say they wanna focus on defense, so we take all our attention off offense and get shutout 50 times in a year? Doesn't make sense at all. I see where they're trying to make improvements, just... so irritating.

What a perfect day, bud!

Glad to hear you back on board... How's Florida treating you so far? Heading down to Florida for the week on Sunday, landing at Jacksonsville, drive around mid-state and depart Tampa on Friday.

Hope all is well! :D

Sweet to get a stick direct from the player. Can't beat that.

I like the Caps, but I wouldn't mind a first round exit. Anything to get that buffoon Elmer Fudd from behind the bench. Dale Hunter is waiting in the wings and will get much more out of that team.
