Then I will delete that post where I mentioned it on the boards. I'm not a snitch, and it wouldn't do any good. The past is the past.

So the next person to get ripped off by these guys, who is to blame? You could easily save some other people alot of grief by at least exposing those that "RIPPED YOU OFF". What do you owe them for doing that to you?

You have to MAKE international buyers pay $13 for registered shipping. It's really your own fault for not protecting yourself. Anything over $20 internationally, I have them pay an extra $13 for registered shipping which is tracked. Don't let people scam you and you lessen your chances of being scammed.

It can be stressful shipping from Canada to the US.

I myself have never run into the exact issue, but there have been instances where I was almost positive the buyer was lying about not getting a card and because its not economically doable to ship EVRY shipment via tracking, you have no recourse.

Apparantly you guys in the US get your shipments within 3-5 days so I end up running into a lot of people who constantly msg me wondering where there cards are after 10 business days because thy are used to getting their stuff in a week.

In the last 2 months I have probably had 5 cases opened on me and all but 1 ended up receiving their cards. The one who didnt was just refunded his money today!

Add all the idiots and scammers who are coming on and I almost cringe when I list more than 5 auctions because I know at least one buyer will msg me asking about status.

1 peice of advice I can give is instead of using express post, ask for registered. I believe its only $12 and includes tracking and $60 insurance.

Also pick a $ figure and anything over that means you shio with mandatory tracking. My figure is $100 so anything about that gets a $12 s/h charge.

At the end of the day, if a scammer really wants to scam you, they will probably find a way so either carry on knowing the rewards and risks or stop all together. Your not wrong doing either one.

There's a difference between snitching and calling someone out for flat out stealing from you.

And as a fairly active buyer/seller from people on these boards, I don't want to deal with people who are willing to steal from other members.

By the way, sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Not only that, but if he is sell the card a week and a half later, isn't that your proof?

I tried to talk to paypal about the guy selling the card later, but they said after a case is closed, its closed.

Anyways, my ebay account has rec'd three negatives in the past three days.

-(2) of them are from members here claiming they never received. I can't prove I shipped, they got their money back, and that is that. I KNOW I shipped the cards, and I know that at least one of the auctions had a very inflated price.

-(1) was from a guy who paid a fairly large amount of money for a Danny Espinosa card, and left a neg (before sending a message asking for me to remedy it, mind you), saying I sent him a damaged card. I didn't, it was packaged well, and it honestly just sounds like he is bitter. Even in his neg he said "the card wasn't worth it." If you made a bad purchase, dont take it out on me!

Thats just the tip of it, in terms of ebay issues.

Either way, the original notion of just quitting is still the direction I am headed.

What does selling cards have to do with collecting cards?

If you enjoy cards, then just buy, don't sell.

If you don't enjoy cards cause you can't sell them, then maybe another HOBBY is a good idea.

I usually used cards as a self perpetuating hobby. When I got tired of the cards I had, I would sell and get new ones. Thats what made me happy. As it is now, this whole situation is causing me a lot of stress, which is in turn affecting any psychological issues I have. I guess I just need to get this stuff sorted out, and leave.

I guess that's the problem.

Nothing can be sustained by self perpetuation.

If you start treating your cards as "permanent", meaning whenever you purchase a card you have the intention of keeping it forever, then you will find this hobby more gratifying.

If your hobby passion was simply fueled by the concept of "prospecting" or "flipping", then I can see why you are burnt out and bummed out. Cards as a commodity is not quite as satisfying.

I say get out while you can, and rediscover the joy of collecting and keeping again. If you never find it, you really don't need to come back.

You are not one of the people causing my stress, which i appreciate, but its just another loss recorded, you know? I don't think I will see those cards again, whether they were sent to the wrong person, or whether they were lost/stolen in the mail.

I've never had a good track record receiving anything from Cananda, so I don't bid anymore.

There is still a 2002 bowman chrome draft jeff Francoeur gold refractor 7/50 lost somewhere between toronto and the us border............still haven't seen it for 4 years.

This amazes me. I'm Canadaian and have had close to 1500 transactions over the border and have had precisely one package go "missing".

Do you live in Toronto? I have family spread across Canada, and have had no issues sending from Vancouver, or Toronto, but I have feeling that because they are so close to the border.

No its still prevelent shipping from TO (actually Mississauga but same thing).

Allin the last year to 18 months:

Just recently I sent some UFC air freshners to Hawaii and the guy hasnt received it so ebay refunded him. $5 down!
Last year I sent a $35 hockey card to NY. Guy claimed he never recieved it, had to refund.
Wladimir Balentien BC RC never got to the buyer. $10 down the drain.
Some MMA cards. Never got to the buyer but I had dupes. Still, $15 down the drain!

Another issue I have found is that sometimes the cards sit at customs for 4-6 weeks. I had a redemption from Topps last year sit at the border for 5 weeks. Like seriously WTH is that?

Anyways you have to enter the market with the attitude that you'll win way more than you lose. But when you lose, it will hurt bad.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck though.
