Were Razor Sports Icons authenticated?

I remember seeing that the 2009 version was promised to have been authenticated by either JSA or PSA/DNA. I don't recall a similar promise for this year's, but I'm 99.99% sure that this cut (photo taken from AIC's group break on the box break boards) ain't Jim Hunter's handwriting. It looks like it was taken from a random note or something.

I'm not here to bash Razor, but I would like to know about this set. Either I treat it like any other unauthenticated sig I'm considering purchasing, or JSA or PSA know something that I don't.

That's most definitely not Catfish Hunter's signature or handwriting.

It also shows the cozy relationship that Razor has built with Beckett. Only someone who thinks the Strasburg super was Gem Mint could believe this was a cut auto of Catfish.

FYI...the card itself is probably authentic. BGS only grades cards that they deem to be authentic. They make no claims as to the authenticity of the signatures in this product or any others.

The writing looks like some sort of note to me, like someone was giving direction in saying: "Catfish Hunter" is too big for some sort of document, because that's def not a signature.

Correct. BGS does not authenticate autographs. They only authenticate the cards.

Correct. BGS does not authenticate autographs. They only authenticate the cards.

The same way they don't authenticate fake patches, only the card it came from. That is why people like that guy with those fireproof briefcases full of fake patches were so confused that their cards were fake, yet slabbed. This should be the go to example of that phenomenon.
