What can we do to liven things up around here?

A card set beyond what we do for the national isn't really realistic.


Blanket, mass discounts at the wax shop aren't really possible either because the margins are already so low.

And a reputation system is kinda lame.

How about the system I talked about with the FCB Points, but it's just for Thanks. Meaning, there is no real value in them, but everyone starts with 100 "thanks to give", and when you give a thanks, you lose one and so on and when you get one your total goes up one and so on. It would be really interesting to watch the progress of members thank totals go up or just sit there IMO.

I have a REALLY good one.

Every FCB member with 100 or more posts gets 100 "FCB Points". We can trade, give away or sell these points with/to other members and earn points through FCB contests and such which FCB gets by the way of accepting them as payments or as discounts for the online store. This will make "thanking" another member a really cool thing, because the thanks will have value. Say you really like a post by a member, you give them a couple FCB Points, and if many others do as well, it adds up and they can use those points to give away themselves, sell or trade or use as discounts on FCB store products.

This would rock IMO.

Maybe make 200 points equal to 10% off (or simply a predetermined cash value) at the FCB online store. Then FCB takes that 200 points received and redistributes it with contests and the like. It would be like an FCB currency. Every time a member reaches 100 posts there is 100 more FCB Points into the system.

How about elections for honorary titles such as "King" or "president". Members can run for office and describe how they could make FCB a better place and campaign for votes from other members. Then at some point we could have an election day.

I'm not really a fan of the points per posts suggestion. Many with large post counts have them for being helpful, but I think we all could agree that many have large post counts simply because they like to post and seldom have something useful to say. Do we really want to encourage more useless posts simply so someone can get something?

Personally I think the ustream pack wars was a good suggestion and wouldn't break Cgilmo's bank account. It could be done once a week or something. Just factor in shipping. A set number of members could send paypal in advance. Then everyone could watch live on ustream from the FCB shop as X number of packs from hot product of the week Y were opened for each member. Following whatever pack wars rules you want to determine a winner and they'd get some bonus prize. Each persons cards as well as the winners prize could then be sent out on Monday. It could add something fun to watch every week whether you were involved or not. If priced right including shipping, the shop shouldn't lose anything and could actually gain from it. The only downside I see would be the extra work, but there must be some downtime at the shop when it could be done.

I like this idea. I don't know if it accomplishing what you are hoping to but I like the idea nonetheless.

True. You should also issue a competency test with all new sign ups so we get quality instead of quantity .
