How about "Hello my name is" stickers with the FCB logo on them for the National. Board members could stop by the FCB booth and get one to put their username and/or real name on which would make it easy to identify board members for those that attend. I may not even go and this really has nothing to do with livening up things around here, but it was an idea I had and didn't want to start a thread for it :P :D

That has been in the works for a few months now.

Bumper stickers would be awesome (I know he said name tags). I would buy a few. One for my mower, one for my Blazer, and one to keep to get signed by Chris Gilmore and company.

Does anyone know what "target audience" is? People who watch MMA PPV events aren't a sportscard message board's target audience.

How about a banner at the NFL Experience or Cooperstown HOF induction weekend? That would be much better

I think it has to do with the cost$ of say a banner at HOF induction weekend. Someone was saying the logo on the shorts of a mid-level MMA fighter is only a few hundred dollars where a big banner at HOF weekend would be thousands id imagine.

NFL Experience would cost much less.

How about an outfield banner for a month at the local minor league park (Gwinnett Braves I guess?) advertising the shop/site?

Thats at least 1k a month and they dont let you put up a banner for a month. I know its usually a season commitment thing.

That's a ridiculously awesome idea. Anyone that doesn't know what FCB is will end up looking it up, and those that do know what it is, will find each other.

Of all the **** that you could do for $50, I think this is tops in a very strange yet effective way.

This may be out there, but what if we sponsored a UFC fighter for a televised fight every so often? Blowout does it once and a while. We could maybe get the guys to do public signings at the shop sometime before their fight.

Granted it may only interest a few members on the board, but it would get FCB's name out there on TV at least...

Despise the "sport" but not a bad idea.

I don't know the exact prices, but for a fighter like that guy, it isn't terribly expensive. I know there is a post about this on the MMA boards. I can find it later

yeah i remember it was me, you and someone else and we were talking about how much it would be to "Sponsor" a fighter and get the FCB logo on his shorts.

I think the discussion was in the thread from the last pay-per-view, from the thread about the George St. Pierre fight i believe.

Yeah, that's where I got the pic from. It was either you and Sean, Ty or Etanju (that narrows it down a lot...)

If you could somehow work a deal to get the fighter into the shop for a signing, that might drag in some new customers. Just display some Leaf or Topps stuff within eyeshot and people might buy it.

It's just a thought.

 I was wondering if it was, but I haven't been following National talk since I decided a while ago I wouldn't be able to go. It's only recently I'm trying to see what I can do to make it.

I'm gonna see about getting the blogs workin correctly and back online.

I'd seriously look in to advertising on an outfield billboard for the shop and site at a local minor league team. Especially since your shop is new. It's your target audience - sports fans and collectors. And it can't be too expensive. I always see ads for dog grooming and carpet stores at games. Don't think there are too many fortune 500 companies in those fields

Group buy of an Iconic card?

It'd be like buying stock in the FCB company. The shareholders would determine when to sell and for how much. That card could be displayed at the header of the website.

I think this would be a lot of fun. I would be in. Only problem would be that the prices of iconic /vintage cards don't move as much as prospects. We could gang up on w and buy giants supers. :D jk.

Also liked jvc's idea about the database. It would be kinda like giving back.

i concur with jbh's idea being a fun one.

i think logistically it would be very difficult but i love it.

Again, agree - a $500 card with fifty $10 "stock shares."
This could be the first of it's kind.

We should've bought the laporta super in the bmb days! Man the laporta jokes would've been been on a whole new level. Only way to kill it in vintage is find nrmt raw and grade. We could buy a red or super of a top tier Guy. Someone appointed would have to make the pick, too many opinions.

I really like this idea and it ties in with the National (in Baltimore next year when I can go?) perfectly.

I like the funny, not serious Bracket idea complete with Video of card destruction. Let the members vote too. It'd take longer but would be even more humorous.

And although not run by FCB HQ, I've always wanted to have some FCB groups at local ballparks, Major or Minor. Personally, I'm close to about 6. Lance and I have talked about doing one at Reading or even the Bank, but the $$$ is tight right now. I'd like to have the idea posted for thoughts in Late June...

This is going to sound somewhat ridiculous, and might not even be possible. How about if someone, or two people got together and filmed a weekley video basically recap-ing a week's worth of events that happened on FCB. Think along the lines of Sportscenter, with event and thread breakdowns by analysts. Obviously there would have to be some humor involved at others expense, and done in good fun. It would be made available on youtube for everyone to see.
For the love of Christ let Joshhamilton and Justinmandawg take turns with this.

The idea of having a different member do it every week could work. However, I agree with you about JoshHamilton. It would be great if he did it every week.

Instead of SportsCenter, it could be called "ForumCenter".
