Its hard to fault a product that delivers 6-10 autos a box, has the top draft picks in it, and has the likes of Pujols,Reggie, Nolan Ryan and Pete Rose in it. remember back when draft once delivered just a SOTT auto per box?

once upon a time the only difference was on card ink versus sticker ink, and now that hole is slowly closing.

I get the feeling that Panini wants me as a customer when I open this stuff, I dont' get that feeling with
topps or UD.

Kevin

Razor Sig Series had 10 boxes per box
Many of the top draft pciks
Exclusivity with many of the players
And Letterman has Pete Rose

That recipe didn't mean to long term success

I would rather have what happened with my breaks this year (averaging just under 2 autos in BDP and having most of them being able to sell for double digits)

The more isn't always the merrier
Some who pumped the product up BEFORE they received their cases obviously had a motive and agenda. Can't blame them.

This would be one product I wouln'd sit on too long because some of those guys will have other autos in 2010

The whole "Panini wants me as a customer while Topps and UD doesn't" quote reeks of Razor kool-aid mentality

Current Ebay prices:
2007 EEE 20 box case (80 Autos)- $1800+ or $23/Auto
2008 EEE 20 box case (80 Autos)- $1200 or $15/Auto
2008 Razor Signature 10 box case (100 Autos)- $425 or $4.25/Auto
2008 Razor Letterman 10 box case (50 Autos)- $390 or $8/ Auto

There is no comparison. EEE is historically viewed as a good product, Razor is not. I think 2009 EEE case prices will see a $2000 price before the year is up.

They're ugly.
But I'm a collector, not an investor, so most of you probably don't care what they look like.

While I have many positives about this product, my dislike is in how the autos get dinged up so easily. I have looked at many of the ones I have and it seems the middle of the bottom edge of the card is ruffled up just a tiny bit. I am assuming it's where the card got hung on the rollers as it was being inserted into packs. Now, that being said, I love the fact that many boxes are delivering the 6 hits and the hot boxes drop 10 on ya. Its nice to feel like you are getting a little added value rather than a bunch of junk like Topps and UD.

Ditto that... too many with this defect. On top of that, out of 11 boxes I pulled one Tate on-card /999 autio... the surface is bubbled BADLy, and when turned over it is clear that it is horribly indented from the back. I am submitting it for replacement, but I suspect that the remaining replacement stash will be depleted soon, allowing them to substitute "an equal or better value" replacement. We will see.

I do love this product though.

Elite extra 2009 will never be $2000/case.
By the time the guys are good, Topps will have Bowman chrome autos.

That is quite true, but you have to admit this is a MAJOR step forward for Elite. I just hope they are able to build on it.

I'd like to see more base cards of the players, as with only 50 cards in the base, non SP set, you get too many of the same players over and over with several boxes.

I disagree with the bolded statement. These boxes are not gonna hit $100. They will be 65-70 before long.

I agree with that price Joe, and I think you will agree that is a big improvement from previous years.

The hits that I got in my box were meh, but you have to love the sleeper potential in the product. I did a box and roughly 2 with all of the loose packs that I opened, but 50 cards in the base set is a joke. I have at least 2 of every player and I barely made the base set last year with two boxes. I also wish that they would go all on card next year as well.

Set should be 150 base cards broken into tiers.

One hundred cards are base with 25 being "uncommon" (4 per box) and the last 25 being "rare" (2 per box).

This way you wont be able to make a base set from one box (companies love to make us buy more) and when you do, it wil actually be worth a little more than a 50 card set.

Once you start getting into doing all the tiers, the value for "master" sets will go pretty high especially if the big boys are in the rare ones.

Similar to the 1990's sets which used tiers, but most in common with 1998 Leaf Rookies and Stars which was blazing hot at one point.
