Bored out of my mind and this topic popped in my head. I figured this would be an interesting topic to talk about. So who do you guys think have made some of the worst moves of all time.

Edit - Can be a good signing you guys thought was awesome atthe time but then just a complete bust in the end or a bad trade. Whatever comes to mind

If neither Cameron Maybin nor Andrew Miller turn out to be what everyone expected, then I think the side of that trade the Marlins got from the Tigers could someday be looked at as one of the worst ever.

They gave away Miguel Cabrera who is still young and who already is one of the best hitters in the game and Dontrelle Willis who has struggled since the trade, but still could be a solid back-of-the-rotation starter. Two established Major Leaguers who had both been stars in the league before for two prospects that may or may not ever pan out.

I think this one might end up being a bad one. Bedard for....Adam Jones, LHP George Sherrill, RHP Chris Tillman, RHP Kam Mickolio and LHP Tony Butler.

In recent history...

Giants dealing Nathan, Liriano and Boof Bonser for Pierzynski

Reds dealing Paul O'Neill for Roberto Kelly

Jays dealing Michael Young for Esteban Loaiza

Expos dealing Grady Sizemore, Cliff Lee, Brandon Phillips for Bartolo Colon (good one, Omar - contraction threats or not, that deal is a joke)

Pirates dealing Aramis Ramirez and Kenny Lofton for ....nothing

Mets dealing Kazmir for Victor Zambrano (despite this season's struggles, safe to say the Rays made out well there)

Every deal he makes is a joke...if the player isnt Hispanic Omar doesnt want him around.

The sad this is that it is true. David Wright is the only one he would keep. Though he did go out and get Sean Green and Putz, I would love to have Mike Carp back right now playing 1st base.

12-05-1990: Traded by San Diego Padres (with Roberto Alomar and Joe Carter) to Toronto Blue Jays for Fred McGriff and Tony Fernandez.

Babe Ruth from the Red Sox to Yankees. I found this at wiki.

In exchange for Ruth, the Red Sox would get $125,000 in cash and three $25,000 notes payable every year at 6 percent interest. Ruppert and Huston also loaned Frazee $300,000, with the mortgage on Fenway Park as collateral. The deal was contingent on Ruth signing a new contract, which was quickly agreed to, and Ruth officially became property of the Yankees on December 26.

$1.00 in 1919 has the same buying power of $12.33 in 2009. The $125,000 equates to $1.5 million in today's dollars (although I admit that the value of MLB has significantly outpaced the rate of inflation since that time). Nevertheless, the Yankees got the foundation of their franchise for what equates to pocket change for Ruppert and Huston at that time.
