amazing that these places stay in business.
And that people shop there.

THAT has caused the big drop in price, not a lack of quality of the product or anything like that. Just completely stupid by dealers, flooding the market loses them a lot of money.
obviously many dealers have a lot of cases and can't afford to sit on them. they have to move them for whatever they can get to keep cash flow going. they have no choice but to dump.
it's also a certainty that big distributers are dumping cases any way they can, and the price would have crashed no matter what end-dealers did with their preordered cases.
blame topps. blame big distributers. don't blame dealers.

If you looked at most of the online retailers, they had their pricing still at $800-$900 while Atlanta and a few other ebay stores started dumping cases at $600 and less. This was all happening around release day. Even Topps Chrome didn't see prices drop that drastically around release. If you checked prices for TC, it was a gradual fall, but it was pretty even. BC saw some crazy numbers across the big online retailers on it's first few days on the market.
I'd still like to know what cost is on a case of BC or TC direct from Topps. That would help put some perspective on what's going on and what to expect moving forward.

It's over $620 a case direct from Topps... everyone selling BC is taking a loss. It doesn't matter what online retailers were listing it at, the price is plummeting. If they all list at $899, its not going to bring the price up. None will sell. The price blowout and such list at has little to no effect on the market value of the case.
We have yet to see anything in my opinion as the big guys with mountains of cases haven't started dumping yet, and when they do, it's going to be ugly.
