What is wrong with some (most) of these National Threads sellers on eBay?

I think there is a weird cross-over of people that break NT from the other sports and think the product hits should sell like the other sports. But they seemingly have no clue what the market is for the players they are listing. I can only site Robin Yount as a current example, but it seems like every BIN I see of a NT Yount card is WILDLY outside what the going rate is for virtually the same card from some other release.

Look, I know a 4/10 on-card auto is nice and all, and I'd love to have it, but no one with any grasp on the going rate for his stuff is going to pay $124.99 for it. You can get #/10 cards from Sterling, UD Heroes or 2005 UD Cooperstown for less than $50; and the top of his hat isn't missing in the pictures on the card.

I just don't get it, other than (like I said) new people think they understand the product, but clearly don't understand the player markets.

Anyone else notice this in the stuff they are seeing?

Same thing with the Jeter cards. Granted most of his stuff usually sells for a great price, but I just bought an 08 UD Piece of History button /5 for $252 a two days ago and these sellers want between $800-$1,300 for a button /6! I also bought a /5 2008 UD logoman patch for $250 four days ago they these sellers want over a $1,000 for a /6 laundry tag! Just wait it out, they'll eventually drop their prices.

It doesn't help that there are people over paying for stuff just to over pay. I am seeing it a lot in this product, I have had to over pay on a few things already and I absolutely hate over paying even if it PC. I absolutely don't mind paying market Price but to over pay just because you need it is crazy. To the defense of some of the Hofer stuff, because certain players have never had, Button cards, Tag, ect ect I can see how someone might just over pay as those players prices have never settled. In the Case of Robin Yount and Jeter (Whom I follow as they are/ Will be hofers) everytime a new Product comes out and they are in it there always seems to be people paying crazy prices for certain card. With National Treasures I have already seen a Jeter Button sell for $600 and a Yount Tag sell for 175.00 that certainly doesn't help especially when other seller see those prices and think theirs is better and set an even more crazy price. Ive seen it a lot with NT.

Most of the Dawson BINs are waaaayyyy off base as well.

Like $29 for a base jersey card /99 that might fetch $5 bucks.

It has everything to do with the set just coming out, and a collector base that wants to bid/buy ANYTHING but topps.

I feel the counteroffers are coming in a lot higher than they should, Ive over paid on a few just cause im on love with this set and some of the players in it I collect and I have never seen GU pieces like this for them. I did buy a yount tag for 125.

I bought a Dawson tag /3 for 150 best offer and I might have overpaid a little, but I was willing to so I wouldnt get stuck in a bidding war like I did with a couple other cards from this set:(

Personally I'm ok with sellers listing 1/1s like knobs logos buttons barrels etc at high BINs but base jerseys and autos just to try to get a player collector to overpay isn't a good tactic
