Curios to see people's opinion on Topps products. Going over the products they've released this year seems like alot of the products are redundant and that it could easily be streamlined to make it better. Here's a list of Topps products released this year:

Bowman
Bowman Chrome
Bowman platinum
Bowman Sterling
Bowman Draft
Pro Debut
Heritage Minor League
Heritage High Numbers
Heritage
Allen and Ginter
Gypsy Queen
Archives
Topps Chrome
Finest
Topps Mini
Topps series 1
Topps series 2
Topps Update
Opening Day
Tier 1
Triple Threads
Five Star
Tribute
Museum

For me, seems like it would make more sense to combine Bowman and Draft into one product and release it in two series but make it more like base Topps cards. I'd then have a Bowman Chrome that parallels Bowman, just as Topps Chrome parallels the regular set. I'd then combine Bowman Platinum and Sterling into one high end prospect based product and get rid of pro debut. I'd combine and condense the three Heritage products and do the same for Gypsy Queen and Ginter. As for the high end, I'd probably drop Triple Threads, keep the others but improve the quality control for each. All other products I would probably keep and with the room made add a Topps Total kind of product and maybe another. What do you guys think? What would you guys do?

I'd dump the above products. I would love if base Topps just went back to one straight series with an update edition near the end of the year.

from Topps' perspective...

You wouldn't consolidate. Then people may buy less.

I agree that their products seem redundant but when it comes down to it, the redundancy makes more money.

I'm sure people will argue against but I believe it's true.

...on another note...does anyone collect opening day?

I know it's a cheap product, but why not just buy base Topps. Seems like a waste of time to make this product.

Gypsy queen & Archives

These would be replaced with the type of packs ive been talking about ($5/$6, modern stock, players, like current panini fb products)

Opening day should be re done.
Still $1 pack but make it a sort of "modern day heritage" using popular designs from the boom yrs, like 1987, instead of just rehashing current reg topps.

I would like if debut was re done too. At the very least, include 2 chrome cards a pack.

Good bye 5 star, her minors & I would even consider canning bow chr.

They could always consolidate the number of products but keep the same number of releases or even increase it. For example they could consolidate Bowman and draft together but release a series 1, 2 and update. I also wouldn't mind if they made Topps Chrome or Bowman Chrome into 2 series.

I agree with the dropping of Platinum but Sterling is a niche product worth keeping since it does offer "High End" Prospect cards which is not offered in any other Topps/Bowman release.....

What if they stopped making Triple Threads as a stand alone product and included the jerseys and auto/jersey cards as extra hits in the rest of the products. Kinda like how UD did with Exquisite a few years ago.

Sterling should be inserted as case hits in the other Bowman Maybe then they will hold some value.

How fun would it be if Topps just made one product? Put the logos of every brand they have now on one box and just make every box like a big grab bag. 12 jumbo packs per box and you could pull a five star booklet next to a base Topps card. Probably be best done as multiple series' so it wouldn't technically be one set but I could see rippers going bonkers.

Obviously, I was a fan of Topps Fusion back in '01, lol.

I like having topps chrome as its own product. Actually thought Bowman should follow the same model with Bowman being released in 2 series, with special inserts and no chrome cards and Bowman Chrome having all the chrome cards.
