ha haven't had a refund since the early-mid '90s. then again, i don't like giving the govt an interest free loan for a yr, so i'm fine paying the piper + using that extra $ all yr round

he is talking about everyone else posting their own tax info, he isn't specifically talking about you. It's kinda like coming home and saying honey, I had a rough day, and her telling you about how her day was much worse instead of listening to what you had to say.

There are many good talkers out there, so very few good listeners.

got it! reminds me of the Beer commerical when the girlfriend [I think they are shacking up: no rings] wants to vent after a long day at the office and the guy goes and gets a beer. funny stuff.

No kidding. I want to know when I became rich. I sure as hell didn't realize when it happened but according to Obama I need to be taxed into oblivion.

Exactly. I'd be rich if I lived in Kansas, but with the cost of living in the Silicon Valley I'm working middle class.

I got around $5k from the Fed, yay..the kids are good for something
I owe state $2 :o

I need to actually keep track of my charity stuffs and stop taking the standard deductions. I do find the whole "stimulus" thing this year fairly laughable. The only immediate impact is the First Time Homebuyers credit and everything else is for 2009 and 2010 or at least eventually showing up in a check someday.

LOL! More like the pharmaceutical, oil, insurance, and auto companies don't understand the cost of living.....at least the car companies are starting to realize.

And please, we're all collecting a luxury, non-necessary product. Remember that before complaining on how its our government who doesn't understand the cost of living. (not necessarily pointed at Marterburn)

big pharma is always blamed, but why is the life expectancy in US 78.2 and 38.9 in zimbabwa?
edicine and heathcare to name a couple. people eat too much, excercise too little and then complain when they have to take medication to extend or improve their QOL. I didn't hear all that complaining when ****** hit the market. I have no problem paying my fair share of taxes, but it's getting ridiculous.

I owe this year, too, but it's my wife's fault. When she switched her status to "married", she added me as a dependent. The problem was, I'm working and claiming myself as well. So, well, oops. My return gets wiped out by her mistake.

And, I don't think the tax breaks take effect until April, if I heard correctly. So there was no effect on 08 taxes (I think).

Same here. Paying $350. I bought a new home last year and missed tax credit by 6 days. Then wife lost job. I tolld my Bank of America credit card " I'm done paying you, you took my tax dollars and got a bailout."

I got a nice refund this year but a few years ago when I moved to NY (for a job) I had to pay out 10k to feds and a I forget how much to NY state because I ended up in some crazy tax bracket due relocation benefits from the new company. I paid the money owed by april 15 deadline and just two months ago got a bill/penalty fee from the state of NY for $75 because I owed them money that year and according to them I should have paid them more taxes upfront even though I had no idea I would even owe any money at the time. Whoever passed the bill needs to be thrown out of state legislature but they are all about the taxes in NY. Not sure if you owed money to your state but I heard other states have adopted similar policies so be careful with owing taxes at tax time to your state as you may get billed/penalized later for holding money from them.

I plan to take full advantage of this.
