I am currently looking to buy a Strasburg auto rookie.What do you guys think is THE rookie of his to have.I'm leaning towards 2010 bowman.

Wether people realize it or not, I think his 2010 Bowman Auto is one of the most iconic cards in our hobby in the last 50 years.

Although i tend to think its usually a Bowman Chrome auto rc, i agree with this. Its quite a card.

Depends on how much you want to spend, and if you want a live copy or a to wait for a redemption. I am deciding between a Bowman Chrome base Auto, or maybe a couple of Sterling Redemptions.

How rare do you think the Topps Chrome base autograph is? It seems I see far less of these than the refractors. The Topps Chrome is an on card autograph as well.

The only Strasburg autos that have been packed out are on card products released before September or sticker products since then. Not including Sterling, which is a redemption sticker, and they're falling about 1/case...which is way too easy to pull.

They flat out lied about the TC autos and severely short printed them after everyone placed their orders.

They severely short printed the BC auto and made it a redemption after putting mockups on their sell sheet which made everyone think it'd be included as a live auto.

It's been going on what, 4 months since BC was released? And still no auto or word on when it'll be signed. But in the meantime, it took them less than a month to redeem Pomeranz and Colon BDP autos.

Add to that every other ridiculous problem Topps has had, plus their piss poor record of replacing redemptions with anything other than worthless crap.

I highly doubt they'll ever be redeemed

I don't like the 2010 bowman because it is not serial numbered.

Consider something like triple threads or bowman chrome parallel instead, though the topps mcg redemption auto is intriguing as well.

I agree mainly with the masses, the Bowman auto will be the most popular and the one that most people will want, if they just want to own one Stras RC.

I think Bradical just mentioned this card is already Iconic and i have to agree. This card might have to be considered this day and ages Pujols Chrome, Griffey UD, Etc. some day soon.

I think the MCG Topps redem will be the next popular but will sell for quite a bit more. Isn't that the card they made from his first ever pitch? I believe it is and that alone kind of holds a nostalgic "theme" to the card.

Of course this will all depend if Stras has a successful return and becomes a star for many years, its really too bad he had the injury.

The Pujols Topps Finest actually preceded the Bowman chrome because it was live and not a redemption. I dont think people remember or care now.

The Fleer redemptions for Ichiro & Pujols were the first ones out the gate in 2001, nobody rembmers that.

I know that Stras Mania is ridiculous now, but things have a way of fading. I'm thinking the Bowman Chrome and its parallels will stay at the top.
