Edit: Votes were deleted when I added the Brewers. OOpz.

I always hear people say if such and such played for the Yankees or Red Sox their cards would be selling much higher. I think we will all agree that these two organizations are top of the totem poll when it comes to premium prices for their prospects ,but who is #3?

Question.

What organization gets the highest premium on their prospects in the card world? Not including the Yankees and Red Sox.

Without any biasness, I would have to say the Mets. When they get a decent prospect, or get a player via trade, there is usually a good chance that premiums are being applied.

I figured the Mets would be the most popular choice ,but I think the Braves, Dodgers, Giants and Cardinals have really been closing the gap in the last couple of years. Other than Fernando Martinez I really haven't seen to many ending prices that I have wow'd me when it comes to Mets prospects. Could be their lack of elite prospects.

I would say the Mets but since they have literally one or two good prospects, I can't choose them. Flores sells for astronomical prices and FMart fell, but I think the Giants are starting to gain steam especailly since they have some really good prospects right now(Bum TA, Posey, etc)

Yes, I think there are quite a few who could make a case, such as the Card's and Braves as you mentioned and also the Cubs. But the Mets being a NY team, and getting decent exposure via a large market really puts them ahead of the bunch, aside from the Sox and Yank's.

But just to clarify, we are talking about prospects who benefit valuewise simply because of the affiliated team, yes? And nothing really to do with the talent per see?

I think everyone assumes the Mets ,but if you really think about it some other teams have really been getting some big sales on their prospects. Like I said earlier. Maybe the Mets just don't have the prospects that some of these other teams have.

It isn't on your poll but I have been able to sell any Tiger no matter how bad the player is.I always end up getting close to book for any Tigers prospects.

Other than the Mets, I believe the Braves also sell for a high premium.

I am not just talking about prospects.

Braves are my pick for the poll. It could be that they have so many top prospects in their organization.

100% agree

if they had the farm of some of these other teams there prices would be higher than current.

easily the Mets

I don't think its quite that easy. If you compare similar prospects to other organizations the prices aren't that different. Examples..Martinez vs Rasmus.

I think this poll truly overlooked the Brewers.

Fielder, Braun, and Hardy have all had true peaks. While it's probably the Mets, the Brewers should at least be on this list.
