What was the best year for baseball cards?

I definitely agree. Pacific was always my favorite brand and it was common for me to get lucky with my packs. Not to mention how amazing all the cards were. I tried to buy a pack of every product and it was a lot of fun. I also got my first hobby boxes w/ two 2001 topps heritage boxes. I pulled an arod auto in the second box and have never since been so excited about a pull. 2005 was the next year I got a hobby box (05 bdp) and pulled a ryan zimmerman xfractor. I still own both those cards.

2005 was my favorite year. Best card sets and best rookie class in the last 20 years.
