Makes perfect sense. Exclusives are GREAT for companies operating under a monopoly. The only competition they have are unlicensed companies, and the only way unlicensed companies can hope to compete is signing players to exclusive auto deals. Topps signs Harper, eliminates the chance of Panini getting him, and now there's no real reason to actually have him sign anything.

A lot of exclusives (not just in baseball) exist not only to offer something no other competitor can, but to keep the competition at bay

Is it a normal auto or a rare low numbered card. I've seen a few here and there numbered very low but nothing like last year

They need to quit the false scarcity bullcrap..
Make the guy (or anyone) sign a few /500 /399 then have your dumb rainbow parallels. Why enable the secondary market to overprice these guys in the first place. Many joe blows would like a Harper or trout, hell, even a new mcgwire but think we can afford them?

Topps takes all of the joy out of everything they do. It's a real shame how cold that company has become. How it little cares about its consumers; and how frequently it insults their intelligence.

They make more than enough off the garbage they produce. How about getting some collectibility back into it. If anyone's worried About the future value of anything they've forgotten why they got into this "hobby". Making only 25-50 copies of anything doesn't make it to collectible in my book

Might be a good thing considering Bryce has dumbed down his auto. If I ever were to get a Bryce auto, it certainly wouldn't be any of the most recent stuff available, it'd be his older stuff when he actually had a good auto on it.
