I've played 3rd base all my life, from Little League through now playing softball. I've collected Mike Schmidt in the past, then David Wright. I added Zimmerman to the Wright collection. Eventually, Wright got to be too expensive, so I sold them off and stuck with Zimm. Ironically, I could probably get Wright stuff cheaper now!
I used to be DWright5 until we could change recently.

I can't remember but back in the late 80's or early 90's I was sitting in Wrigley Field with a friend of mine watching batting practice of a day game. It had rained earlier in the morning and the field was still wet and there smell of wet grass in the air.
then said "I love the smell of Pine Tar in the morning" And my buddy and I laughed out load. So reference to the George Brett incident of 1983. And that would make a great story but this was the real reason for the name.
It was from the scene from the movie apocalypse now when "he says do you smell that", "do you smell that". "The smell of Gasoline". I love the smell of Napalm in the morning........ I changed it to the love the smell Pine Tar in the morning, while at the baseball game though :lol:
