What's your greatest Thanksgiving Day sports memory??

Could be a turkey bowl game you played at a park.
Basketball with friends at the gym??
Could even be destroying a family member in super tecmo bowl.

Mine is,

The 1979 football game between the Oilers and cowboys, it's still stuck in my head. I would have only been 8, but I can still picture Earl Campbell going beast mode. I remember my dad, my brother, my uncles, all sitting around talking about him. Other than my angels cards, his topps card that year, was my favorite, just because of that game. When I hear Thanksgiving and sports, I think of Earl Campbell.

Turkey bowl MVP about 5 years ago, played QB and had like 6 Tds passing 2 rushing. Also played safety had 2 picks. Had a guy come up to me after and ask what college a played QB at.. Lol.... I told him never played 1 snap of competitive football in my life. just a baseball player with 1 hell of an arm and a good athlete. Retired on top haven't played since....... Lol

Oh yeah and followed up the next year with a basketball game where I don't think I made 1 shot prob 0-15 shooting.... Lol

Hey..... The ball was lopsided ... Lol

1995 Detroit Lions/Vikings game. Lions won 44-38. My boys Herman Moore, Scott Mitchell, Barry and Johhny Morton went nuts that game and it was the first Thanksgiving with my girlfriend--who is now my wife.

I remember watching the Falcons beat the Lions in '05, and Michael Vick won the Galloping Gobbler award.

When he was interviewed about it, he said "I've been dreaming of this since I was a kid" (or something along those lines)

The reporter had to notify him that the particular award had only been handed out since 2002.

When I was maybe 7 or 8 my Grandfather bet me $0.50 that the Cowboys would beat the Steelers during Thanksgiving dinner. The Steelers won the game and I collected my $0.50. I have been a Steelers fan ever since!

Wow, mine is the exact same thing! I was a fan of the Cowboys at that time (I was nine), and Campbell tore them up.

I got knocked out cold playing in the back yard like 98. My last memory was reaching for the ball.. My next memory was my brother telling my mom I was ok and holding an iced beer behind my neck.

I also ate a whole turkey cavity full of oyster stuffing one year. I couldn't poop for 3 days.
