I thought about doing Prospecting but then I decided to go after Glen Perkins (somewhat in the hopes that he makes it big). I doubt it will happen but it sure is fun to nab all of his stuff at insanely low prices! Except for the 1/1 printing plate the the LCS owner says he will sell for $140... I laughed at that.

Just goes to show how bad a prospector I am; I didn't even know he had been released after or durring the 2008 season. Ouch!

Anyone need a bunch of cards of the guy drafted to be the "next great Yankees catching prospect"? No, not Jesus, but rather this guy:

Whoops!

A small stash compared to some out there, but taken together with my stash of hundreds of base Chromes, it's considerable for my budget (and the fact that I bought in a little late...)

But he still may might pan out, as could Mark Wagner, my other candidate.

Hope remains, but things just aren't looking good for either...

I think I have a few more that I haven't scanned because, whats the point anymore. I think like 1 more each of base, refractor and xfractor. Might have 5 Blues now too. Not sure.

Rick Assadorian, kinda related though: a business partner of mine in Arizona lives on the street Darnell Stenson was killed. I used to have alot of both guys.

Wagner can't be a bust unless you bought in very early. I picked up two plates and a gold for under $20 total within the past two months.

I bought most of my Wags' at release. Only one purchase recently... a gold for under $10 DLVD. At current rates, he is worth a shot.

Gilmo - you didn't dump your Schafers on Opening Day last year?

Even though I still collect him I have tons of extras of Sean Burnett. He's a major league regular with an ERA under 3 but relievers don't set the world on fire. :(

I was thinking the same thing. Schafer should easily be in the "hit" category.
I usually buy a little bit of a lot of guys, so no huge misses. But right now, Poreda definitely doesn't look good, and Brett Wallace USAs have lost a ton of value.

Thomas Diamond was once a great pitching prospect for the Rangers.
Then he blew out his arm and underwent Tommy John surgery.
Now he's with the Cubs' AAA team (and doing very well) so hopefully he gets a call-up soon.
But his prices have sunk like a Brandon Webb sinkerball.
Luckily, I sold off most of my Diamonds for a small loss.
But I still have his '04 BDP Gold autograph that I paid $180 for in 2005. ::facepalm:: :benson:

Anthony Hewitt is my big bust

I have trouble letting go

I hear ya... Even tho he is not a bust I cant sell the rest of my Ike Davis auto's for this reason. It would all be profit but still i like looking at them from time to time.
