If only players could see long term. If a player like Prince would stay with his home team for his whole career, he'd retire a god. I'd bet the residual income from side businesses after retirement, in a place where he's loved, would more than make up the contract differences now. And let's be honest, even right now we're talking tens of millions. It's not like he'd be poor in Milwaukee and rich somewhere else, but I think he stands to make more here in the long run. The same could be said for Pujols.

I'm no CPA though so I could be way off in my ramblings.

It would get REAL interesting if the Nationals snagged him.

C- Ramos
1B - Prince
2B - Espinosa
SS - Desmond
3B - Zimmerman
LF - Morse
CF - Werth/Ankiel
RF - Harper/Werth

SP - Strasburg
SP - Zimmerman
SP - Detwiler/****/Lannan/Peacock/FA signing

CP - Storen

It would make spring training a little more fun for me (if they stay here)
but would be nice if he stayed with Milwaukee

Phillies need a bat, desperately. Maybe Howard can play 1B and Prince can play short1B.

I'd be shocked if he ends up in Boston. Already have Gonzalez locked in long term at 1st, and unless Youkilis gets moved, he's likely going to need to have his innings at 3rd cut down and play some at DH. Getting Fielder reduces the already limited flexibility of the roster

prince is gone. The whole reason for this season was to get a long term deal somewhere else. The good part for the Brewers is teams wont be after Prince as much as he thinks. But in the end he will be headed out of Milwaukee. And i wish him well.

I agree with markakis. The word around B-more is Angelos is going after him. Last big star we signed was Belle and that was a tragedy for years! The only thing is nobody wants to play in Baltimore until their careers are coming to an end and then they will settle for Baltimore (Vlad).

Well Pujols wants crazy money, why not sign Fielder who is younger and can play the same position? St. Louis should take a look at him when the season ends.

If he cuts about 75 pounds, if Pujols were to leave, maybe.

I think there is a possibility he ends up in Boston, but I am hoping as a Cubs fan he ends up here in Chicago. David Ortiz is a free agent, and they could sign Fielder with some of that money. Fielder could split time with Gonzalez at 1st and DH. To me, it makes sense, but who knows really.
Makes absolutely no sense to me, tbh.

Not sure where he goes though, probably will stay in the NL.

Since that joke is still funny, right?

In all seriousness, I think Moreno is going to make a huge offer to Pujols with the new ~$2 billion TV deal on the horizon. If he gets the sense that there is no chance at Pujols, then maybe he goes after Fielder.

You make a good point. If all players (not just Prince) cared more about their loyalty to a team instead of a few extra million, it would help cement their status as legends.
