Believe it or not, there are some pricey and rare cards in this product.
I know of "Junk wax Gems" site and he does an awesome job, but it lacks info regarding which are the pricey/ rare ones.
Besides the Whitten, Drabek and Holes variations, can anyone help out?

Pricey and RARE are usually two separate things with unlisted/little-known variations in junk sets. Many people still follow the "book" for some strange reason (especially when it comes to this stuff), most of which have outright proven that they aren't interested in adding and/or updating much of this stuff within their guides.

My site isn't a price guide, but rather a showcase for the interesting, sometimes rare, errors and variations that appear in a the so-called "worthless" sets.

Considering how much of these products were produced and that 20 years from now a 1991 Topps factory set will likely still be a $10-20 set, the only thing that can make your set stand out from the heaps of others out there, is to have all the variations. My site is an ongoing effort to help collectors build these master sets and to generate awareness for this under-represented faction of the hobby. A by-product of this is that awareness of these variations means people looking for them, which means getting a fair idea of their rarity (via ebay listings/sales/reportings)

That said, here is a post I did from November 2009:

http://junkwaxgems.wordpress.com/20...91-topps-baseball-the-40th-anniversary-issue/

It think it may answer your question.

I will definitely be doing that set. It's a giant headache but there are some pretty thorough lists already floating around out there. Donovan compiled a solid one on the CU boards if I remember correctly.

Do all the known variations come in both LEAF INC and LEAF INC. varieties? I'm assuming they do, and that there are 8 different versions of the Harold Baines AS card. I have 3 of the potential 8 (ASG/INC/Line, ASG/INC./Line, MLBP/INC/Line), but don't own any of the No Line of Front variation to comfirm.

I have been unable to confirm that all 27 Diamond Kings come in the INC (no period) variety. I remember concluding with other collectors that one of the INC./INC variations does not exist on the 3 early-corrected errors (Baines, Ryan, Ryan). I tried building a master set over five years but it was a huge pain so it was abandoned about 90% of the way.

Are certain packagings "better" for finding errors?
meaning do I have a better chance of landing "error x" from wax compared to cellos?

I opened four jumbo (100 ct) packs tonight (even taped it). I'm still sorting it out but I know I got a comstock cubs, blyleven large, 2 hudler lines, ventura all red, boyd behind, etc.

No, not really. Pulled all my Hoiles and Drabek errors out of $0.99 priced packs but also pulled a ton of corrections out of those too.

Cool thread! This thread made me dig out my 91's and the 1st stack I noticed one card that was different than the others. The flag has a yellow bottom accent to it that the others do not have. LMK if this is a variation or not. Thanks

Its a plate shift printing error, specifically the magenta plate is slightly offset from the others. Extremely common in 1991 Topps and other "junk" years.

Jackson, I assume you've noticed it, but do all hershiser cards have an error where the top border is printed over his hat?
